Car: 91 240sx Se Coupe - KA24DE

Post

Just bought a 94 240sx Se Coupe. Pretty much finished auto to man conversion minus the clutch pedal install. Trying to find information on the vacuum line removal for the ka24de. I keep comming across information on the ka24e. I pretty much have all the vacuum lines removed minus the FPR to IM. And brake booster to IM. Is their any hidding vacuum sources that need to be plugged? main concern is i believe the S.C.V Actuator. Butterfly? well its disconnected and will it affect how the engine runs? I also have this sensor thats on a little pipe that should be connected somewere on the radiator hose idk if its for the d or the de engine it was in the car when i got it.

EDIT: I pretty much got the car as a shell but the engine and trans wasnt in the bay.

Pretty much finished installing Engine Trans Driveshaft. Bypassed safety switch so the car will start. Wired up reverse lights. Wiring A/c fan as radiator fan.

if you disconnected the vacume to butterflys in the upper intake manifold..then you need to remove them...its 2 philips style screw for each plate..you can leave the bar in with no adverse effects on a stock engine.

you can tie it open if you can figure out which way is open. i believe thay are closed at rest. i also removed mine and i do have to say it doesnt like to run cold but it warms up quite quickly. also you say you have a 94 coupe, is it a vert? i thought all 94s were verts.

will see once i get it started. i think i ran into a problem. bought a new battery now when i go to start it the starter just clicks multiple times. i jump the starter same thing. i took the starter off and bench tested it it works but seems weak. hmmm if it is the starter would a auto starter work?

Also how many engine to chassis grounds are their and location. i only see one! which is a flat wire from firewall to back of engine.

UPDATE: Car cranks. gets fuel gets spark. Doesnt run Not sure how to check cel codes but on the ecu the led stays lit while on run position

check your timing, you should have one ground strap by the firewall attached to the head near or at the exhaust manifold. you should also have two ground wires in the ecu/engine harness grounded to the head, and a ground line going from the battery to the intake manifold. if you get fuel and spark likely all your grounds are good. check to see if your dizzy is installed correctly its possible its 180deg out.

the neg batt cable is connected to the IM not to the chassis? also what you mean by 180 deg out

the neg batt cable goes both places on my s13 it stops at the chassis and continues on to the intake manifold. and if you or anyone else ever removed the dizzy it could have been installed incorrectly causing you to get spark but not at the right time. follow the fsm to reinstall it. as far as the ecu light staying on thats normal while the engine is off and the key is on.

ok currently everythings at TDC O Deg. Dizzys at #1 looks dead on. Took Valve cover off, cams look like their on the right spot. Good spark through all 4 cylinders. Fuel in all 4 cylinders... NO START

I 180'd the dizzy and it would snap crackle and pop but i believe timing was off cause it was on its exhaust stroke. I found compression stroke by shoving a glove down spark plug #1 also behind the oil cap spun the crank clock-wise and the glove shot out haha.

If i checked the CELS correctly i got codes for:11:Camshaft Position Sensor (Could this be the cause? but i am getting spark? )12:Mass Air Flow Sensor (Its connected)34:Knock Sensor

I found another distributor and still NO START

CEL CODES:112134

How i set the timing.

Took the valve cover offLooked at the timing gear and distributor. noticed to dots and lined them up.Timing is on TDC

Still no start! WTF!

Also got a 93 Man ECU

EDIT: Gas is brown lol how do you empty the tank!
