to check for vacuum leaks there are many diffrent ways my method of choice is to get a berns-o-matic torch and remove the tip replace it with a section of rubber hose about 8 feet long ( the length doesnt matter). now start the car and let it idle, pop the hood, turn the torch on so a medium to small amount of gas begins to flow out of the tube ( you can smell it but dont huff it ) pass the tube over your vacuum lines and vacuum assisted parts. when you get the gas by your leak the idle will rise or smooth out (depending on the symptoms your experienceing) as the gas is sucked in and burnt in the motor.

It's hard to say with limited info. You should start by checking for codes. Lack of power could be slow timing, bad air flow meter, low fuel pressure. Make sure that the intake boot between maf and throttle body doesn't have any tears or leaks. Pull the plugs and look at the tips. Are they black and sooty--rich, are they white--lean condition. Check manifold vacuum at idle, if low could be cam timing. If you can get some of the answers then we can go a little farther.
