So i just picked up a s13 coupe its my first Nissan and Rwd car.

I have sworn by Vw my whole life. and owned a good amount of them.

when I picked up the car is was super clean, but the motor seems slower than the other ka's with the same mods (stock with a 2.5in cat back)

and my gas mileage sucks...

my check engine light pops on every now and then.

any idea on what it might be?

and yes i have searched

thanks for your help guys, this is an awesome fourm and i look fwd to posting on here a good bit.

there could be lots of things that could be the problem First how many miles and do a full tune up. Check for vacuum leaks, check your grounds etc.

you know i can build some 8gauge grounding wires with eyelets.. but im not sure where what would go and how... it's not hard to make, just where to plug

And FYI, stock exhaust is more like 2.25" not 2.5"... i forget exactly but definetely not 2.5" and its crush bent (AND HEAVY...)

Put on a new coolant temp sensor. I saw a dyno before with a stock ka24de that made 110whp and when they put on a new coolant temp sensor it dyno'd 122-124whp.

Seafoam is a cleaner. Its originally made for marine engines. It is very potent. lol. Itll clean everything out. Get it at an auto parts store. Id run it first and then do a tune up. Be prepared for some smoke when its working though your system. I also pour some through my vac lines for an instant clean.
