Hello Rogue Owners,
I purchased a used 2010 Nissan Rogue S on Saturday 2/15/14. No options except for the 360 package. It has 26,000 miles and a clean carfax.
I put approximately 60 miles on the Rogue over the weekend, everything worked perfectly. Today I took the Rogue to work (15 mile drive) with no problems. On my way home tonight the vehicle started to work strangely. It felt like it was losing power, almost like it was running out of gas. The RPMS stayed constant but the power seemed to come on and go off. Since the RPMS stayed the same, I suspect an issue with the CVT. I actually stopped and filled it up with gas thinking that maybe the gas gauge might be misreading, but it only took 11 gallons. It did seem to run better after stopping for gas, but It seemed to lose power one or two more times.
We did get 4 inches of snow while I was at work so it was a bit slippery, but this feeling of power loss was fairly extreme, I don't think the road conditons caused this.
I read in some forums that people have had CVT problems where the car would not accelerate. But many of those posts explained that this was after an hour or more of driving. Plus I wasn't accelerating, I was at a 50 mile per hour cruise.
Any ideas? I left a message for my salesperson. This was a used car purchase from a Chrysler Dealer (a good dealer). I suspect that I will be taking it my local Nissan Dealer.
Thank you,
