new rims now for tires

i just bought some new rims 17x8 fronts and 17x9 rears now im just waiting for them to arrive anyone know what size tire to run to get that strecthed out look? evenly on front and rear? was gonna go 40 hieght but im still not sure on the width im noe expert so...someone throw me a freakin bone here

on the 9 inch do a 235/40/17. Thats what im running. On the front you will have to ask around, i run 225/45/17 and that is no where near a stretch. Hope that helps at all.

215/45 front and 235/40 rear...

I dont think you understand the reason for stretching tires. AFAIK, it originated from trying to fit the widest wheels possible and having to choose tires to match. 8" and 9" hardly push the envenlope.

If you just like the look, +1 for you, but its hardly necessary (depending on the offset of those wheels)...

why run 45 aspect ration in front why not do 40 all the way around?

The aspect ratio dictates the overall diameter of the tire. For example a 215/45 r17 is 24.6 inches in diameter, and a 245/40 r17 is 24.7 inches. It helps to know when size matching/balancing is important.
