New right front wheel hub - props to Fette Infiniti Service Dept

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Around early July - one month after i took possession of my 2011 EX35 AWD Journey - I started to notice a periodic rotational thumping coming from the front of my EX. It was periodic. Didn't seem to be getting worse or more more frequent.

On Friday the 30th I was admitted to t he hospital for surgery. the wife took the opportunity to park her car and use the EX for visits & other missions. A week later, the 5th, I was released to proceed with my recovery from home. I asked the wife if she noticed any noise or thumping under rolling while she was driving the car. She confirmed that she had noticed it and used restraint in not mentioning it to me as she believed (correctly) I'd immediately look to get it repaired.

This morning - I asked the wife to follow me to the dealer - they took the car right in at 800am - I made an on line appointment for 800 an hour earlier. Four hours later the service tech confirmed that the right front bearing was in fact in need of replacement. I had bought the car from an Audi Dealership and the Infiniti Service tech was able to have the front end work - inspection, parts & labor - all the repairs done under the Infiniti Warranty Program. No charge what so ever to me.

Huge PROPS to Fette Infiniti Service Dept.

Thanks & much appreciation from a very satisfied customer. Possibly the best dealer experience I have ever had.

In today's world of dealer greed and pressure to accumulate hard cash, the last thing I thought the service dept would do was to fix my front end - parts & labor - all in under warranty .... a very pleasant surprise. I gave the tech who worked on the car and the manager who handled the service $20 each and a couple of new DVD's I had produced a few years back.

My EX felt 'new to me' ever since I picked it up ... now I guess it feels 'better than new' - I'm a happy Infiniti customer.

It's nice to hear stories about the good dealerships out there. Most stories we hear are about negative "stealership" experiences. I think Infiniti could have engineered a bit more reliability into their products, but for me the experience with my dealership service department has been absolutely great.

If you get an online survey request from Infiniti, don't forget to fill it out. It's another way for the dealership to get rewarded (or punished) by Infiniti USA.

No doubt - it seems people are much more apt to slam a dealership for a negative experience but will rarely take the time out of their day to extend a compliment for a job well done. My own management style includes supporting good work with acknowledgment and a reward.

In addition to posting on their FaceBook, Yelp pages - I gave huge props - which took some time - to the service manager who handled my job in the Infiniti On Line service follow up...

It also feels good to give someone a compliment for a job well done.....
