I successfully programmed a new remote for my 2005 Q45. All remote functions work but it won't turn the ignition. Is there something I can do to fix this or do I need to take it to a dealer or auto locksmith? Thanks.

Unfortunately, it needs a dealer or good locksmith for that. You only programmed the keyless entry part, but the transponder needs to be programmed to speak to the security system.

When you go to do that, take all the keys you own for the vehicle with you because they all need to be programmed at the same time to remain functional.

Before you go to do all that, open the case carefully and make sure the transponder chip is actually still in there (preferably indoors on a clear surface to make sure that you don't lose it if it actually falls while you open the remote case).

Mods might move your thread, but here's some discussion about the same type of key in case you want to make yet another spare key without the fancy key fob -03-m45-key-replacement-t591081.html
