hey guys i barely post here, im a former ca18 owner n a new rb20 owner, i got a rb20det with a rebuilt head by tophat performance, rb25 turbo, walboro 255. stock everything else, smic, old school hks bov, yadda yadda yadda.... so my questions are, since ive got the rb25 turbo, n its set at 10 psi. without a tune. it runs like **** im sur eyall know.. so what would yall recomend for a tune? safc? also would i need larger injectors. im wanting to get it tuned with the rb25 turbo at 12-14 psi... so yeah injectors? already have a aftermarked FPR installed. idk what regulator, since i traded my ca for the RB plus cash.. so yeah thanks!!

check your vitals..also,

boost leak check your system, whats your fuel pressure at?

Is timing on spot?

"Running like crap"... please elaborate, how so..

If this is in a S-Chassis, that SMIC is probably heat soaking as well.

ummm when i say running like crap i mean.. as in it hits full boost at about 3k. (i think I dont have tach) and it just doesnt pull.... at all... if feels like its running rich or lean idk. but i think it just needs a tune very badly... previous owner got it tuned with a safc at 9 psi n made 240 hp n 215 ft lbs.... and said it rain fine n broke loose threw 2nd gear... i dont break loose at all. infact im almost scared to hit boost because im afraid im running lean...

check the basics.boost leak, fuel pressure, base timing and plugs.replace your plugs and go from there.put some kind of fpr on there.if it still doesnt work then it might be in the wiring or the ecu somewhere...

nooo,, it runs.. but it needs to be tuned. thtas what im trying to say, it just needs a tune. i drive it every day, it just needs a tune cause its got a aftermarket turbo and isnt tuned. i dont kno why your saying boost leak and everything, if it had a boost leak, it wouldnt even idle correctly... its not a leak anywhere. it needs a tune.....

a 25 turbo will not throw off the tune enough to need a full on tune.large injectors will...if you're on the stock fuel system then it should run just fine.you can have a car that idles well but doesnt make power due to boost leaks...boost leaks do not become apparent under vaccum.

check back with us after all your vitals are checked thus eliminating any problems there.

we mentioned them before, and exactly, boost leak is one of them.

wouldnt a boost leak mean that i dont get any power from turbo spool??? if i had a boost leak my blow of valve wouldnt seed... if i had a boost leak then i would get any readings on my boost gauge, since thats wired to my manifold... its not a boost leak.. and CoolWHIP what vitlas, minus boost leak.

Most of those will not need to be checked for obvious reason of your engine is capable of running. And others aren't really needed to be check for reason that do not associate with your issues.

Turn the boost back down to 7psi and tell us what happens.

And for the boost leak conversation even though you build boost you can still have an issue.

We've built a 4G63 that ran 38psi on the street and started to blow pressure through the throttle body coupler with anything over 30psi. We ended up wiggin clamping it due to obvious reasons.

A tester is $5. And testing take 5 mins.

Skip that step or not, could be your problem or not. But as for the tune, I would take Carl's advice any day when it comes to the RB's, especially the RB20. Good luck.
