Well my motor got in yesterday so I snapped a few pics. Motor is dirty and a pulley is bent, but otherwise looks to be in pretty good condition.

I got a great deal on the motorset from Jim at Compulsive Horsepower. He was very nice to deal with. And the motor shipped in a week so that was nice too.

The valve cover is powder-powder-coated red. Looks almost like a factory job because of the inspection sticker on it but who knows.

I go out to the car shows and meets regularly and I've never seen another RB 240.

I know there is one RB26 S14 local to P-cola, but I've never seen the car. I'm not sure it is even in running condition. There is suppose to be a one or two more around but I've never seen or heard any more than rumors of them. So who knows.

Looks good, but you might want to check the play in the shaft of that PS pump. Bending the pulley probably isn't an easy thing to do without damaging the pump itself. Otherwise it looks like you've got a good project ahead of you. Good luck!

I had heard of an RB being at Big 10 Tires, never seen it though. I'll have to stop by. Are you RB-ing your 240?

I plan on doing the install myself in my garage. Burke's Machine Shop will be decking the block and head for me, and I may send off my wiring - Haven't decided on that yet.

Right now I'm just taking it slow, getting parts as I find deals on them. Jim @ Compulsive HP is giving me good deals on parts and such. Also giving me a hand with the build up. He's real invovled and wants to be a supplier for every RB part he can find so he's been a real help.

Thanks for the support guys. Jim wants to do a full S14 write up with pics so we'll be working on that for everyone.

Jim and I have been talking with Yuri, and right now plan to send my wiring to him. He sounds like he knows what he is doing and his customer service is great. It is not 118.00, right now its on special for 329.00

Got the motor down to the head and block last night. Waiting to leak down test it before we pull the timing belt and pumps off though. I'll post pics when I get to my home computer.

Block/head should be decked and cleaned next weekend, then I can start ordering and installing parts.

Bayfront is a local parking lot in Pensacola on the bay, hence the name. It use to be a place where alot of nice cars went hung out, checked out each others cars, etc, etc. Now it has turned into a "who-can-be-more-rice fest" Its gotten pretty bad where everyone and their civic goes out there. Even the country boys with their lifted truck go out there and so stupid stuff.

The place is good for nothing but a laugh really. Sometimes there will be a few nice cars there but they park away from everyone else so some idiot doing a one-wheel burnoug doesn't hit their car. I rarelygo anymore.

Whew that was a while ago. Motor is torn apart now.

I plastigauged everything and all the bearings were well within spec. However there was some damage to Piston #1 that bothered me alot. ANd yes the rings came out of the motor lined up like that.

Also I noticed the short crank collar and the impending damge so I decided a full rebuild was in order.

Right now I'm sourcing rebuild parts. Found most everything, just gotta take the plunge and order ALL of it.

Are your rod bearings OEM or some other brand? I'm not sure if OEM is up to the task, but the only folks I know of that make race quality bearings for the RB is ACL, but their stuff is hard to figure out part numbers for. Thats what I'm working on now, part numbers for the correct sizes and grades.

Also, I plan on ordering the pumps and gasket set from you guys. Piston rings will come with my new CP pistons so I'm good there.

Thanks for the help.
