Hey guys, I don't know why this hadn't occurred to me before, But I have the ability to make some lift kits for our Paths. I know there was a kit out a few years back that was made in limited numbers, I think it was the Prado lift kit of something, but if there is anyone one out there that either has a kit they would like to donate/sell or has some designs already in a CAD program, I can use my connections here in Japan to make a run of 30 kits to begin with. So far I've only been making aftermarket pulleys, short shifter kits, and some brake caliper re-locater brackets for a few different cars. basically anything thats made from solid metal I can replicate or try and improve a little by design. so if you guys would like to see more big lift kits, I'd like to offer my services. And Since I've decided to keep my R50, I'm highly motivated to see this project through.

Let the posting begin.

Do you think you can make Lowering kit for R50. I think we can get at least good 5 members to buy it from this forum

You want to talk with Tyler Morgan, he's the one that was Prado Lifts.

If you can offer a decent price for a 5 inch suspension lift, I am all over it.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, It took me a little while to get back in the swing of things once I got back home.

anyways - I think I can start offering this kit at a very decent price. If you could talk to Tyler, and get me a picture of all the necessary parts first to give to my supplier, that will be a huge step. also, ask him what material would be best suited for the construction? billet, steel, SS, etc?

I never really thought about lowering kits, I would think most people that would want a lowering kit would be more interested in air bags? but thats just me thinking.

I'm also going to start having the automatic email remiders setup for this page, so I don't forget about it for weeks at a time.

Were it made available for a reasonable amount (by reasonable, I mean under $1000 usd, or close to it), I'd be all over it. I still want to make my prerunner-style long travel kit, but time and money seem to be in short supply these days. Plus, I'm kinda waiting to see if my PF blows up after 75k miles. lol

I had planned on a lot less then $1000, I was more or less going to shoot for the $500 range, but it all boils down to how extensive this project gets, and how many parts it will take.

but from the pics I remember seeing a long time ago, I think the $500 range is well within reach.

But I still need a set of plans for it to get started.

kinda old thread but it caught my eye, hoping it will get a little attention. hey sicwitit, if you could get a 4 inch lift available for around 500$ that would be awsome, the 2 inch kit offered by 4x4parts.com runs for about 600 to almost 800 buks, im plnning on getting one no matter what, but a larger lift for less money would be great.

the 4" kit I'm trying to get rolling doesn't have moving parts, its basically lift blocks for the struts, rear springs, and drop blocks for the front cross members. you could use it with the stock suspension. to get the most benefit from the lift, you should probably use a AC or OME kit in conjunction. This kit should be somewhere in the $200-400 range depending on the manufacturer. I've got 2 other projects for the pathfinder I want to release first, but the lift will follow suit soon after.

I've got a couple projects lined up and want to get it in with my first run of products I release. I've been kind of tied up over the past few weeks handing over about $4K to the Japanese government in fee's of all sorts, but the last of what I had to pay was paid this week. So now I can get started on these projects again. I plan on taking a trip up to the shop I found that makes/sells the kits here in Japan, and hopefully buying one if they have one in stock, and "improving" on it so I can legally reproduce it and ship a couple kits out to the states.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to offer it with a better designed strut/shock combo, or if the KYB/Bilstien stuff offered already will be enough. Plus, I have to get a hand full of brake lines made...good thing I'll be coming back to the states in a few weeks. I should be able to contract that part of it out to a shop I know in Tacoma WA.

But most of this stuff will not come to see the light of day until I come back and can go to a junk yard, pull the parts I need, ship them back, and have my mad scientist tear it all apart and CAD everything. its going to get really good, really soon. I'll keep everyone posted.

I already know that. One of our member has it on the same colour pathfinder as me. 2" drop isn't enough for me. But if sciwtit can't get none I'll be picking its off 4x4 next month

Trust me dude, 2" is plenty unless youre looking to tuck tire

I got the 4x4 drop kit and 2" is enough to give me a 1 finger gap on stock rims and 265/65/17 tires, with my 20's on there is NO gap. And if im not mistaken youve even got 22's

The truck will never appear low to the ground though, still way to much ground clearance, to drop it that far youre looking at some serious custom fab work, I dunno how low exactly youre looking to achieve though

Wowo you got 1" gap on 2" drop. Then again you have so much weight in the back. How is the ride quality after the drop.

Not 1", 1 FINGER, maybe 1/2"

Ride quality on there springs is pretty good, little more prone to bounce I find, but I also did all 4 shocks/struts with KYB's

I think it may be more than a 2" drop once fully settled though, its a damn spendy kit, but its the only one out there

the 2" drop is more than enough especially when i put 20;s on it, it should look A+, going any lower and youd need to tuck the wheels.

and i will mention that do not go over bumps that you know are bad with this lowering kit as you normally would on stock springs, cause your gonna have a helluva ride over it lol. it is more rough over the bumps and stuff, but then again i think it settles back to normal much faster, since oem springs make it less obvious cause it gradually decreases the bounce before settleing back to normal.

dont know if you get the last part but anyways yeah 2" drop is nice

Brand spankin new to NICO but I'm interested in hearing about the lift. I definitely don't need an additional 5", but sure would appreciate a bit more than my 2" AC lift. Thanks...
