Hi, I just bought a new r34 Neo6 gearbox from RHD for my s30 260z with rb26. I want to start off with the best gear oil possible, and, any break procedure I should follow to help gearbox last a long life.
Any advice please??
Thanks

Wow how much did that run you? I would imagine it would be like any other gearbox no? Is this an auto or manual? Ive used redline MTF in my trans before and it was awesome, very smooth shifting. For auto, no idea I imagine a good synthetic fluid would do the trick.

I would suggest either Torco RTF, AMS oil MTF, or lightweight shockproof redline

Ive used all of these and they all work well, currently using AMS oil MTF (im also using a NEO transmission)

Id take it easy for a few hundred miles, get the synchros bedded in a bit, but other than that you should be ready to tear it up.

Thanks for the tips. Mainly looking for break-in info. I've never had a new standard trans to bed in. Break-in oil first for so many miles? Drain, then synthetic?
