New QX56 owner

Hi all! We just bought a 2012 QX56. We bought one with the theatre package, cross bars, cargo mat, and illuminated door sills. The total price for the car was $63,500. We got it for $56,700. I'm hoping we got a good price. We are a little frustrated bc the dealer said they were giving us the maintenance plan at cost but they clearly didn't. We are working to resolve that matter now.

I'm also having a problem with music being played thought the iPod connector. The music sounds garbled with both my iPod and my iPhone... Even when using different cables. My husband's iPod sounds fine using the same cables. All the devices are updated with regard to the the operating software. Has anyone had this problem? Is there something I'm doing wrong with the devices?

"sounds garbled" does not really explain much.

did your previous car have a ipod connection? if so, how did your music sound there?

if you have a current car in your household that has an ipod connection, how does it sound there?

have you been to the dealer to test your personal ipod on another qx with the usb/ipod port?

if your husbands ipod sounds fine but yours does not, could be an issue local to your ipod and iphone. the connector is just a usb connection, nothing special. if you have swapped cables and no change, but your husbands equipment sounds fine, i would say check your volume and EQ settings on your ipod and iphone.

Stay diligent on the maintenance plan price issue - It's not a necessity, and if they won't give you what you want, get your money back for it. We get coupons for free (or $10) dealership oil changes ALL the time mailed to our house, and our Nissan is an '05 model. Don't let them hit you for additional money.

I don't know how to explain the music other than garbled .

Both the iPod and iPhone worked just fine in my car previous car. I can try my husband's car tomorrow. I'll probably just have the dealer listen to the issue as well. It's hard to figure what is wrong with the first two... Given they were both fine the other day.

He said we can't cancel it bc it was all funded already. I know that's not true bc I read that all the contracts can be cancelled.... Plus during the paperwork we said we wanted to pay for the plan out of pocket. I also would have chosen the elite 2 instead of elite 1 given we are leasing the car and the 7500 mile oil changes would be fine with me.

Yeah, stay the course on that issue. If you don't get any satisfaction from the dealer, we may have some *pull* you can use.

Congrats on the new purchase! I hope you enjoy the new ride! Sounds like an iPod issue with the one iPod. Stand strong on the warranty case, once again, dealers that can't help but be dealers. Go bust their balls!
