a heads up to anyone wanting to do a quest alt upgrade. I have found a 100% brand new alt through car quest( i manage an independent store) . The cost is right at $200.00. With a new alt you Do Not have a core charge to mess with. The part# is 13473an and it fits any quest from 93 to 98. This is a much better way to go than reman. The cost is around $50 cheaper than most remans with the additional core charge . The alt will most likely be a special order but it will only cost about $10 for shipping.you can get this at any car quest location but beware some stores may have a higher markup % than we do.

Good to know. That quest alternator upgrade looked easy.

A 95-98 quest alternator will fit pretty easily into a 240. Pretty much a bolt in affair, just need a bigger belt. 110 amps vs 80 (or 90 for s14 SE) You can also do the 99-02 ( I think 02... maybe later) which is larger and 125 amps. I have one of these in my s14 and it wasn't that hard, just had to grind/file away part of the bracket to get the alternator on there.
