hey...i was putting in my front dirvers side speakers today but heres the problem...

1. first off...if part of the speaker is covered up by the door panel is this a problem for sound? The part that is covered up is mainly the rubber surrounding on the left side and maybe 1/4" of the actual woofer.

2. also....i didnt want to make a baffle and decided to use the stock speaker/amp housing and just cut the stock location wider to accommodate the new 6.5 speaker. Well when i put the whole housing back together and put it back on the door it fit fine...until i tried to put the door panel on...it wouldnt go in without touching the speaker...so i didnt do that. Anyways...i decided just to use the top part and not the bottom part of the speaker/amp housing. I was wondering if i were to seal it off would that protect it enough?

i really do nt know how you would keep the stock housing.i never did that.made a baffle.i put up some new pics of doors showing baffle good.i put up a few new pics.check it out.car speakers are made for harsher suroundings unlike home stuff.but that dosnt mean you can pour water on them.it wont hurt if alittle is covered.

well i dished the plastic stock housings and just used some some 1/2 wood to make the speakers fit into. i didnt make a whole baffle because im not that good at this and really dont have the time. it took me nearly 4 hours just to cut and fit these in. i moved them to the left so none of the speaker is covered. thanks for the help...all i have left is to mount the tweeter...i think i liked it best near the sail panel angled towards my face...i like hearing music from different points..not blended together. thanks
