I ordered me a new quarterwindow switch from Nissan last week and it came in the other day. I installed it last night, looks and works 100% better. I got it for just $36.50. Here are some pics:

Oh yeah...wanted to post a pic of my new daily driver. 2006 Ford Expedition Limited, it loaded and painted a pearl white:

Very very simple. Just remove the center console and squeeze the sides of the switch and push it out of the console. Remove the wiring harness, plug the harness into the new switch and press it back into the console. Very easy...took me 3 mins tops to install it.

I got the map light off of eBay for about $15-$16 shipped, it is an LED light with two different colors you can switch from...blue or green. Works great. Here is a link to one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...45096

This is a real mystery to me. If you go to dealership, they said this switch is no longer available, but recently you can cmkelly got them. I'm confused.

They confirmed me 3 times that the switch is out of production. Anyway, I'm dropping by there tomorrow to pick up something, so let's see.

Don't remove the center console. Too much work.

Just remove ashtray and reach it from there. Maybe that's what you were saying though?

I also just got a new one. I ordered mine through a site sponsor of my Titan forum. It was not on his on line catalog, but I called him and he ordered it for me.

Yeah...you can just take out the ashtray and do it that way if you don't have really big hands like me...the side of the switch that you have to squeeze to make it pop out is on the drivers side of the switch...just fyi.

Looks like Nissan found a pile in the warehouse somewhere, some dealership returned them to the warehouse for money or ran a batch. Bunch of quarter window switches are available right now. Get one while you can.

I checked availability of top up/down switches a couple of months ago, but there were not available at the time. Hmmm... definitely something's going on with switches.

They probably ran a batch since they have a 100% failure rate.

I just got one, so it apparently wasn't the last one.

Bulbs might be out or you didn't pay much attention to them.

Ohhh, THOSE buttons. I thought we were taking about the 1/4 window switch still.

And James, do you want the metal plate that the 1/4 window slides onto or not??

Thank you. This could be the solution to the verts not having adequate lighting in the cabin.

I wonder if you have interior lights under the rear view mirror. If so, you can get LED bulbs. It'll be brighter.

If he doesn't want it I'll take it.

The green part of the light is a lot brighter then the blue...it works really good. I like mine...no more opening the door while driving down the road to find something.

Which side do you want? I have the passenger motor assembly and guide plate out already, but the driver's side plate may or may not be going to Mr Rounds over here

Mine broke. The switch for the left side came off one day and I saw that the squarish box that the inner switch fits into had cracked. There's also a square bit of rubber that fits around the part. The switch would still operate, but it was very tricky as you had to manipulate the little spindle in the hole.

I was able to fix it though- some epoxy fixed the squarish bit and now it works fine again, though it's still loose.
