I recently purchased a 1997 Q45, it drives and ride like no other car i have driven. and so far in the day I have owned it I'm really liking it. Right now it reads at 155k
As with some used cars it has some stuff that needs to fix for it to be comfortable to my driving standards.
Right now, it has the following cluster lights lit up. TCS off, SLIP & Service Engine soon light.
I scanned the car with a friends scanner, I got the following codes.
P0120 - Throttle Position Sensor
P1120 - Throttle Position Sensor 2
Something I noticed on my drive home, is that sometimes the idle would go up to about 1500rpm for no reason and slowly come down, it would also do it sometimes when i start it also. Also on the freeway it seems like it needed more throttle then necessary to accelerate.
With some common sense and the car repair experience I have, I'm thinking. The TCS and SLIP light are lit up because the car cant sense the throttle position sensor, due to it throwing the code for them and the possibility of them being bad? So it override the system and turned them off?
And if I'm correct there is 2 TPS?
Also what would cause my odometer to not work? My MPH and RPM and all other gauges work fine, but my odometer doesnt work or go up at all.
A list of maintance items i want to do besides fix these problems are these.
Fuel filter
Spark Plugs
Knock sensors
Plenum cleaning
anything else I should ad to the list?
Thanks for your help.
