Hey Everybody,

i wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jamie and i just picked up my first q. It's a 1995 pearl white q. The car has 136,934 on the odo but it's broke. The actual mileage is thought to be around 160k. The interior is simply amazing i feel for the age. The car doesn't have any major issues. There is a minor idle problem that im thinking is a iac or maf issue but not sure. It's not the fuel pump though i listened and that seems fine. The body on the car is in really good shape with the exception of two small rust spots right at the rear bumper. I am hoping to learn alot from you guys and get maintenance issues resolved then onto mods. Here are a few pics, will get some more tommrow when i go pick it up.

Fuel pressure gauge is the only way you will know if fuel pressure is adequate. Listening usually only reveal a failed pump. It does not confirm a working pump.

:welcome: to NICO Jamie!

If you're feeling a dead miss at idle - which I can best describe as a "bounce" - I would look toward a failed fuel injector.

Thanks!! The odd thing is when i first went and looked at the car it ran for about 4 mins then started idling a little rough. After turning the car off and starting it back up it idled fine for over 40 mins running and when i drove it home last night from the shop it drove fine as well no idle issue at all.

Welcome to NICO!

When I first got my Q I only had it a few weeks when two injectors failed within a couple of days. I did the Ohm check test and found the bad injectors. An item that was helpful in confirming my findings and letting me know the health of other electronic components was the ECUTalk cable I purchased. The cable allowed me to connect the car to the USB port on my home computer and run diagnostics. There is free software that provides readings on ECU registers that can point you to failing or near failing components.
