Well, I was given(donation) a 1991 Q45 with 234,000 miles on it. The Previous owner was the head technician at a local Infiniti dealership. The chain guides as well as the timing chain has been replaced. He gave me the entire service history when he donated it. The car will be a project car and I plan on turning it into a show type car. I look forward to my journey with this car.

It helps when its a tax write off. Being a non-profit organization is very helpful! We get several cars donated to the group however we just tune those up and sell them. This one we decided would be a great car to keep.

As far as I know, the spoiler is stock. How exactly could I tell?

I think this is goin to be more of a "show no go" car. I have a car that I race, I dont need another. I am just getting into reading up on these cars so I dont have definite plans yet. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

You dog! You are lucky to have been given a car that looks that good. How does it run? There's allot you can do like getting BBS wheels, which add sexiness to the car or you can get much better then that. Get the Modded ECU and TCU's, brake upgrade, new rotors, stainless steel brake lines, Tokico Blue shocks and much more. It all depends on what you want to do with the car as far as how your driving it.

Heck I'll buy the car from you.

It runs pretty good, it has some valve ticking. I have read that there are "hydraulic lash adjusters", how do these work, and how hard is it to adjust them?

HLA are non adjustable, in that the oil pressure controls their stiffness.

Always a good idea to pull and reseal valve covers to look at condition of cams.

Most noise is from the location of fuel injectors unless something is wrong....the look of cam lobes and cleanliness of head tells the tale.

Good to know. Any recommendations on getting the covers off?

Also, which RTV should I use when replacing the covers?
