Finally a new aftermarket Projector Headlight for our B16 Sentras. While this looks pretty cool, the seagreen looks kinda weird in the daylight and it looks funky at night. Might be a little too futuristic for me....

I hope they make other versions of this as I like how the side parking lights appear similar to the 370Z.

New Projector Headlight

Additionally while not brand new but there are red LED taillights as well.

I personally prefer the OEM chrome or OEM Black versions. Aftermarket Black ones have reached eBay as well...

hmm, so far these headlights only surfaced once on eBay. I'm curious to see what they look like on the vehicle. Has anyone else seen these headlights being sold and/or additional photos?

Looks like these are starting to surface on eBay. They are manufactured by a company called Eagle Eyes. I haven't been able to find much info on these or any websites that carry them. There's a couple versions out right now, the one at $336 w/ free shipping as the standard projector light w/ your standard halogen configuration. The next one is the same headlight with low beam HID 6000K or 8000K for $340 + $40 shipping.

I e-mailed the seller and they can upgrade the HID kit for a dual beam by adding $60 more bringing it up to $400 + shipping. This sounds really expensive, and I have zero wiring experience..... I'd really want to get the dual beam HID version but it is so costly.... Gotta hold off for now...... IF anyone does get these headlights installed, I'd like to see pictures. Thanks.

Also the "green" tint from the original posting seemed to have been removed so it is pure chrome.

Got some actual pics from the seller Sabersoft. I dunno, I got mixed feelings. These black ones do look better than the chrome ones but still kinda funky.... What do you think?

I figure no one cares about this anymore...but just in case, I am posting the pictures of what these actually look like once installed. I will post more pictures if anyone wants to see them in the dark or anything. They are really easy to install once you get the stupid bumper off.

Tails. I thought they were going to look stupid since they were chrome, but it looks more like gunmetal in normal light, and diamond chrome in sunlight. Pretty sweet looking. And these ones are SUPER easy to install, anyone can do these (2 bolts under the carpet)

Yes, I was looking at those on Ebay. I'm was a bit hesitant cuz of the quality of some of these products so I will ask you as a Sentra owner - how is the quality and also the output of light - I assume you're using halogen bulbs in them?? If you could post some night pics that would be great too. Where did you did the tails?

thanks

Faja, the LED tails can also be found on eBay. I'm also hesitant on getting both of these. I do want to get the HID version for the headlights but I'm not sure if the housing will last long plus those side white LEDs really bother me.

zj695000, do you know if there is any access to replace the side white LED bulbs with amber ones? Is the headlight sealed with a glue or held in place with clips? I want to put in a shroud over one of the angel eyes.

Please post pics at night if you can, I've seen some on cardomain but your pictures look a lot better by far. Thanks for sharing!

Oh by the way, do you still need your OEM head or taillights zj695000? If not and if they don't have any dings, scratches or cracks, mind if I buy them off you? You can send pics to my e-mail is gforever AT msn DOT com. Thanks.

In my opinion, they look cheap.. the fronts anyway. If you don't mind posting a few pictures of it maybe from some other angles? Also in the dark with the lights on? They might be cool but I can't really tell from just a straight on really.

I completely agree with you guys on the cheap part and the hesitation...I stared at the ebay auctions for these for literally weeks and searched everywhere for someone with pictures of them installed (NO ONE had pics)So the backs went in the first day on my lunch break and I loved them instantly. The ones you see on trucks chromed out are totally lame, but these match the style of the car perfectly. Like I said, the chrome is actually a gunmetal until direct sunlight hits it, and they look a lot more stylish than the stock ones. Other colors of the Sentra might look different, but I think it will look cool on the majority. The fronts look totally lame until you put them on the car, and compare to the stock visual. I couldn't get pics comparing side by side because the whole bumper has to come off to get them on, but even with the front end removed they still look better.

Gforever: They are clips + sealant... not worth taking apart, and no access to the side leds. They are kind of odd, but I am probably going to rewire them to make them turn signals anyway. You don't even notice them until night. And no, I do not need my stock ones anymore.

More important notes: buy seperate HID kits, not those combos (I have 10,000k low beam, 3,000k fogs, and 4,300k high beams) The combo is more than buying seperate. They look even better with the HID if you have all LEDs (matching colors obviously)The low beam (projector) is H3, and the high beam is H1 on these (very important info, these are different than the stock ones) {fogs are stock h11 still}Also, if you buy from Sabersport without ebay they will take off 10% ($500 for both sets)And finally the rears are SOOO easy to install, and the fronts are pains in the a** due to nissan's bumper removal system but I can give a quick tutorial if anyone needs it. It is also easy once you know what you are doing.

I will be posting a lot more pics once I remember to take some. I figured no one would even want to see these honestly...based on the lack of info and pictures. The fog light igniter is having issues so it will be minus the fogs for now. And I will get pics using something other than my cell once I see my sister next weekend.

btw, with the HIDs, is there much glare still or does it have a decent cutoff?

The projector you have in there is made for a halogen bulb not HID so the beam pattern won't be the same thereby producing a bit of glare to oncoming traffic. It's probably not as bad since at least you have a projector lens as opposed to normal halogen headlamps with reflectors. The cutoff is the straight line that the light projects.

Park your car at night about 20-25' away from a wall and turn on your lights and you'll see what I mean - take a pic if you can.

thanks

It does not have the straight line. This is what the top of the light line looks like once they are aligned. It is focused straight ahead so the passing traffic does not get blinded, just the people in front of me

Hi guys,

Long time nobody posted here, but I hope it should be valuable.
have decided to take on the task of a HID projector retrofit to my B16.

So I decided to go down the easier route without compromising quality and ordered a kit for Morimoto Mini Projectors with 4300k bulbs which are on the way now. These should be a straight plug and play with the biggest challenge being I'll have to pry the lens apart from the headlight's housing which I've never done and am a bit wary.
Except for that, the projectors will fit in the same hole as the original bulb and no drilling needed for support screws since it mounts as if it were the bulb itself, and they come with a harness which supposedly will plug in directly on the original bulb's pigtail, reducing the wiring work to only hooking up the ballasts and relays to the battery.

Will keep you posted on the progress once the projectors arrive, which should take about 1 month since I live in Brazil.

On inspecting my headlights before ordering the projectors I discovered one of my lenses has 2 small scratches which seem to come from strain, probably someone's bumper might have hit it not too hard. The scratches are about 1/2" each. This made me worry that upon taking the lenses apart and putting them back together after the retro, the strain might worsen.

Anybody has any experience with this? Is it likely that I will get big strain lines on my lenses? In such case, it'd do good to order some new ones, probably tinted. Any thoughts on this?

Lastly, I might look into some change to my tail lights. zj695000, do you have your original SER taillights? I like the black look & IMHO they'd match my black B16 better than the LED ones, might be interested in them.

Thanks for the support, cheers.

Lil' update for y'all:

My ordered parts have already arrived at the mail forwarders, repackaged by them into 2 packages, and sent to me in Brazil.
They should take about a month to arrive, less if I'm lucky.

Here to some pictures:

Morimoto mini Bi-xenon projectors
Image

Mini-Gatling Shrouds, Audi-style LED strips, CCFL inverter for 70mm Halos that will be fitted inside of shrouds so that the shrouds' "vents" light up when position lights are on.
Image

Morimoto H1 4300K bulbs, TheRetrofitSource.com H13 Bixenon Harness
Image

These are the Bi-xenon projector retrofit parts.

I also ordered a couple of Hella 55mm H7 Halogen modules which were at sale on ebay, in order to have some halogen lights which will light up along with the HIDs when the high beam is on. I wanted these mainly because unlike HIDs, they light up instantaneously so are better suited for the flasher/passing light function. This HID/halogen combination is seen in many OEM setups. Only challenge that remains is where to fit them, will there be enough room for both the Hellas and the projectors? I am considering fitting the Hellas where the turn signal lights are, and swap the turn signals for amber LED strips located elsewhere inside the headlight.

Hella 55mm H7 halogens
Image

Judging from the small screws on the square mounts (pic below), looks like the mounts are removable, therefore it should be easy to put the Hellas inside the turn signal housings in the headlights, if they are small enough to fit in there.
Image

Well this is it for now. All that's left to do now is wait for the packages and pray they arrive all in good condition! :ohno:

Cheers

This is not the update you might have wished for but... some news:

Most of the parts I've ordered have been through customs last Thursday. Now it could be anything from 1 day to 20 days till the Post Office decides to dispatch the packages from their main hub. Bringing international packets to Brazil is a pain in the a**.
I say most of the parts because I don't know where the h*** are the amber and white LED strips that I ordered from ebay (aside the white strip I got as bonus from TRS). Seller won't answer my emails, their phone number doesn't work, and I don't know whether they shipped it, where to did they ship (mail forwarder in CA or directly to Brazil?), etc. I have chosen today as the deadline, if they don't answer me today I will open a case with ebay.

Well, now we have to wait for the parts to come. A telescopic headlight washers kit by Hella is on the way from Germany as well. Will look like this once installed:
Image

EDIT: of course, this is not a Sentra. Picture taken from the net for an Opel Astra (Saturn Astra in the US) with the same aftermarket washer system installed. The end result in my B16 should look similar though.

No way to be legal here without those. Might also need an auto leveling kit to be legal, some friends have been required to install it to make their ride legal, some haven't. I might try my luck without it, don't know.

Well, sorry to keep you waiting a little more but I have to wait till our Post Office gets in a good mood and decides to give me my stuff. Not before paying taxes and duties, of course. Remember, this is Brazil, many things rock here, but the tax system and the Post Office are not among those things. They're more on the "things that suck" side.

See ya

Thanks for the update. As for the auto levelling kit, I personally don't think you will need it with this setup as the projector seem to have a very sharp & distinctive cutoff. The B16 Sentras actually have a nice cutoff with stock lights, even with plain HIDs, the glare is not bad at all like some cars. I have just an HID kit and aim my lights a little lower and no one (i mean no one!!) has ever flashed at me in 6 months!!!

My stuff finally arrived! Picked up from the post office this Friday. Parts arrived all OK and they sure look high quality. Only catch: I ordered a H13 harness but the harness I got has a plug for an H4 socket. Anyway, both H13 and H4 are dual-filament bulbs so the everything in the harness except the plug will work fine with the B16. I bought an H4 socket and made a custom cable which will plug into the harness and have the right connectors in the other end (which will plug into car's stock connector).

By the way, I will have to come up with some custom connector to plug into the car's H13 socket. H13 parts are not really readily available in my area. Any ideas as to where to find such a socket?

I've already installed the harness into the car. Will do some tidying up and take some pictures for an upcoming writeup.

In the meantime, enjoy your Sunday. I'll keep you posted!

EDIT: I also plan to retrofit a Digital Climate Control in this car. My previous (cheaper) car had it and I miss the AUTO function really bad. heheh. So keep an eye on post5708181.html#p5708181. Once I'm done with the projectors I will start the DCC project.

UPDATE!

Although I kept silent, I have been working on this project for the past 10 days or so. I got the headlight washing kit, but have forgone the leveling kit for now. Way too money invested already.

Car is grounded since last Sunday. I disassembled the front end (bumper cover & grille, headlights) and continued my work from where I left off since my last post.

At this moment, the telescopic headlight washers are in place and working. Not difficult to install, just had to find a mounting place for the telescopic sprinklers and fab a mount support for them, cut the hose to size and route it, then route and plug the simple harness. Plus I found at a local auto wreckers a nice reservoir good for about 4 liters and with a spot for the second pump just begging to be drilled It just fit, will be a little crammed against the mudguard once I reassemble the front end. A nice improvement in capacity over the car's stock 2 or so liter reservoir. I haven't taken many pictures before the install but will take as many as possible of the setup as it is now on the car, before I assemble the front end.

As for the Projectors, since my last post when all cabling was laid out and tested, I got to work on the headlights themselves. I have had a great deal of difficulty in cracking the headlight open. Didn't even had time to tackle the driver's side one. I don't have an electric oven, just a gas oven, So I was way too weary of baking my headlights inside it, since the heat distribution isn't nearly as even as if it were an electric oven. Thus, I used a heat gun. One of the 3-way switch ones, without step-by-step adjustable temp. Not really that suitable for the job.

I started with the passenger side headlight. Used the heat gun on the second setting which is supposed to be 300ºC. Way too hot, so even being quite careful, I did a great deal of damage to my headlight housing. Pictures to come soon, the housing groove where the lens attaches got bent and dented a lot. My plan is, when reassembling, to reheat it and try to put the dented/bent edges back in place. The lens came out pretty much intact.

So, let me warn you: I had never cracked any headlights open before but, given what I read in many forums by googling around about headlight opening methods, to me the B16 headlights seemed to be waaaay harder than average to break open. Maybe it is their size, maybe the shape, maybe just the bloody excessive amount of extremely hard and damn well stuck glue. I don't know but I cannot explain in words how frustrating it was at first.

This is all for now, sorry for the delay. It about 5ºC now which is DAMN COLD for Brazil, even in my area. Since I don't have a heated garage, I'm hoping the cold wave will end by the weekend. Wish me luck!
