new projector headlamps

hey new to the forum. i jus purchased after market headlamps. they have a black background in them and they look pretty cool. i got screwed tho because it doesnt give off the same light as the original. i guess what im trying to get at is that they arent blue anymore. can i exchange the bulbs from the old lamps and rig them into the aftermarket lamps? also the halo ring is rather weak. any stronger replacement bulbs available?

what year i35 do you have and can you post a pic/link of the lights you bought. this way we have a little more info to go on so we can help you out.
