Hey guys I have been reading these forums a little bit and I have a question, so I figured i'd ask. I want to change the color of the console lights, behind the read outs like speed, RPM, ect. An easy way to do that? Also, here is my 2007 Nissan Versa!

i'm not too sure about your question but your V is looking nice so far, you do the grill yourself?

Unfortunatley it looks like the V has LED's that are soldered into the instrument cluster. I didn't see any individual bulbs or anything like that.

Welcome to Nico Club first off. Secondly your grille looks really nice how you didn't paint the chrome. But im not really feeling those tail lights (never did). Anyways the cluster lights i don't think are interchangeable.

I also like the grille... I've always thought the little bit of chrome they put on there was great, an the rest now matches the front of your V.

With regards to the tail lights - where did you get those? And did they fit properly with no mods? We've had a couple people ask about altezza style lights, and the only ones we had found were on fleabay and didn't fit right.

I think the tail lights are actually made for the Japanese version (Tiida). The sockets don't fit the bulb, but I did some adjustments and put a silicon barrier around the opening of each bulb so it was water tight. I havn't had any problems since. I am thinking about taking my stock tail lights and smoking them to see how it looks. I like the idea of black and white on my car. I can do circuit board soldering so I will most likely change out my lights. Just have to get around to taking the console apart (if anyone has a guide that would be great too). And yes I did the grill my self, last night actually. I just did a quick job on it, I will most likely go back and put a clear coat over it, for now its just paint. Thanks for the feedback.

Welcome, and let me be the... third one to tell you how great your grille looks. I also own the arctic white Versa, but I changed my grille to a custom one. I see that you also ordered the handle scoop chrome cover from eBate. And... wtf ! You remove your hatchback window wiper ?!?!?

As for taking apart the cluster, the service manual is available on the forum's main page.

We had another guy take apart his gauge cluster to try to re-solder new LEDs and got broken gauges for his efforts. From what I understand, changing out the LED's is actually the EASY part of the swap... taking the needles and gauges off and having them actually work again when you put them back together are the hard part.

the guy (Jessie) at my Toyota dealership says it can be done and is willing to do it on my Camel when I'm ready...

Even LEDs go bad so it only makes sense that there's a way to change them...

p.s. I love the grill... maybe you should think about painting the lower grill and fog inserts to match...

About my back window wiper. I woke up on Saturday morning and someone had tried to rip it off. So the spring that is on the back wiper is bent to all hell and I have yet to fix it. It is an easy fix though, I am just not motived enough to do it because it is summer. I really think I am going to attempt to change the LED's though. Anyone know for sure what size LED are in there so I don't have to rip it apart? Thanks

EDIT: I noticed there were a lot of tiny finger nail scratches on the scoops, so I had to buy those to protect the paint. I buffed out the scratches and put those there.

WOW that is clean, if it were mine, I would paint the lower grill, the foglight finishers, front and rear lips, and the side sills to match, add an OEM spoiler, and throw the factory taillights back on, put some clean lil rims and put some of my custom headlights and BAM! hahaha. Clean bro CLEAN!

HAHAHA!!!

white walls?? hmmm

In all seriousness though, I have always liked a really nice clean white car. My homie has a 99 Civic Coupe that is white with some black racing lites, and damn it is just super clean, you would never think he would be one to smoke you!

I was thinking about taking off the hub caps and painting them white. Leaving the emblem chrome, what do you guys think?

IMHO I think that is just overkill, I would just buy rims, but not paint the hub caps. If you think about it, the black steelies are still there, and they are going to show through.

I agree on the overkill part, but for a different reason.. That's a lot of white, and the stock wheel covers have a very large surface area.

I'd think the car would look very sharp with new wheels and tires. I'm thinking either a polished/brushed aluminum or even a red or black wheel might look nice.

Haha. I wasnt serious about doing the hub caps. I was just trying to give my girlfriend a heart attack (Because she reads the forums too). It was worth the laugh. I am going to get some ADR rims. You guys like ADR?

I had a set of ADR rims that followed me through two cars, I loved 'em!

Nice looking car and I think those rims would be a good fit. I agree with Clipsed when he said paint the lower part of the grill. I'd be very interested to see what a Versa looks like with the lower body portions painted white too. I painted my door sill, but I have the Stillen lip and rear so it's not the same. I think that would turn out pretty nice. Definitely unique.

I love what you have done to the front grille. Looks VerNice! I too have a white V and I really don't like the look of the front of the car. I think you have stumbled onto something good here... If yo don't mind me asking, what brand and "color" (obviously white, but there are so many different whites out there when it comes to paint) paint did you use?
