Unless you're got a big power adder, like a turbo or a swap, an aftermarket exhaust isn't gonna do much but make noise. It'll uncork a little power, but not much...

i vote aftermarket for one exhaust..

2.5' piping with 3' tip..

its the perfect exhaust for the n/a ka.

not to big, so it wont be too free flowing.. and its not too small to restrict flow.

Its perfect.

well i kinda agree w/ both... but soon ima be going turbo after i swap to another KA and check how it runs... i like the idea of 2.5" piping for stock, then switching to 3" w/ turbo...

keep em coming

i had a 2.5 inch straight pipe exiting right before the drivers side rear tire and it sounded great at low rpm but real raspy when i drove it hard and at high rpm. im currently running stock exhaust cut off aight after the rear end crap, i like the way it sounds but it is sort of restrictive compared to the 2.5 inch. Bottom line i like xxRBxx's idea

If you ever plan on adding a turbo, that's when you should get an exhaust, and if you are going turbo, you get a 3 inch. Sure you can put a nice 2.5 inch on a KA, but honestly bolt-ons only go so far. If you ever want to make real power you will consider a turbo upgrade, and at that point the 2.5 inch exhaust was a waste of money.

Save your pennies and get the exhaust for when you actually need it.

I voted for stock exhaust.

Reason: Why buy the 2.5" if your going turbo in the future?

Just buy the exhaust when you buy your turbo build.

fab up your own exhaust. its cheap-ish and you can just have fun with it and make it your own. go get some steel tubing (2.5" maybe 3") cut it, weld it, and bend it to exit where you want it, then get some of the VHT Flame Proof paint and spray it up to keep from rusting. you cant go wrong with it.

ONLY a 2.5" or less piping with resonator will sound good. those 3" ebay exhausts will be just way too loud and obnoxious. they are ok with silencer in it but it gets a little raspy so that sucks. if i could do it again i would spend the extra dough to get a brm or something.
