So i picked up a daily autox beater a couple days ago. its a 94 Escort Gt.
it has kyb gr2 struts with h&r springs, intake, and side pipe straight exhaust. beat up but runs like a champ with 85000 original miles, all for $800 and 40mpgs haha
so its my daily and it'll be auto crossed for sure.
but any who, the head on the CA is most likely warped, it wont seal towards the back of the motor, no matter what headgasket i use there still ends up being oil coming out of the back and sitting on the top of the bell housing, and leaking into cylinder 4, fouling plug and smoking. but still ran fine when i turned it off last time.
its now under the knife, the motor is getting pulled tomorrow, the head will be machined, and redone.
HEAD plans are..-3 angle valve job-port/polish-EEP valve seals-EEP brass valve guides
so it'll have a brand new, and better flowing head.
as for the block, it will stay the same but i plan to pull every piston out, one at a time for inspection of rings and ringlands just to be safe, ill pull one at a time, and if its all good, ring compress it and slide em back in.
as for the head gasket, i will run a greddy 1.4mm thick 85mm bore. i hear they seal great, if you have heard other wise or have a better gasket suggestion then please do tell me.
the valve covers will get AN fittings welded on for black braided breather lines for a cleaner look and more efficent.
the air control valve thingy will also get an AN fitting sweated on and another on the intercooler pipe for a leak free solid seal.
things im interested in buying from members are the following.-upgraded valves-upgraded springs/retainers-cams?-most of all an adjustable FPR, nismo, or others.-possibly valve covers with an fittings already on it, that would be nice to save some time.-Apex'i Power Fc-700+ cc injectors.-and anything you have forsale that would go along with this head build/dress up/or anything you think i might find useful.
thanks,
insight, comments, questions, suggestions are very welcome and encouraged.
