That explains it - you must race alot - so performance is paramount. I've heard that strictly for performance - the stock 17" rim is the way to go.Kenrik wrote:Some prefer function over form..
These are strong wheels, they clear brembos without spacers, they have good offsets and can fit 275 tires in the rear, they use 18 inch tires that are only $108 each for 275/40/18 Z rated.. (the cheapest 19" tires are $150 +) I go through a set of tires every 4 months... SO... yeah.
I only paid $600
Yep, that's what I was getting at in my prior post (Show vs Go).When I was looking to improve the handling of my 97cobra coupe, I was told to stay with 17's, but go wider. So, I went with cobra R's and 275/40/17's all around plus dropped it 1.5 inches with steeda spring & cc plates. Also had an aggressive alignment done. Unbelievable difference in handling!!!! (All mustangs look like they are on jack stands out of the box.)Cali 2 Balti G wrote:

I know what you mean about pictures not doing justice to the subject. The second set of pictures is at a much better angle.
I hope I didn't sound like I was ragging on you - for me my car is a commuter car - so I won't be doing any racing. Driving with the stock wheels on the G has already trained me to look for potholes and bumps in the road
Good Luck.
