cold air intake, well the z31 air filter is already in front of everyting and above the air ducting for the radiator, if you want to run a cone air filter it's as simple ad a piece of PVC and some hose clamps, as for headlight conversion? is there something wrong with your headlights? you want to do what exactly? the lights on with the headlights down mod? and your 87 should have pretty good stock driving lights

Welcome to the club. First of all with the Z31, be careful with a cone filter on there cause I know with my buddies when he comes to a stop the car stalls out, this is from too much going through the MAF. I don't know if you'll have the same problem but being something to look out for. Also were you looking to upgrade the bulbs themselves like to a Sylvania Silvestar or did you mean HIDS?

....uh.... I don't think so, there are tons of z31 with stock electronics running cone intakes, I'd say your buddy misdiagnosed an AIV problem

Do you realize how ignorant and stupid this post sounds? No, really, do you?

An engine will only pull in as much air as is needed. I could put a 12" pipe for an intake and the car wouldn't "stall out".

well i ment on a turbod z the compressor side intake is right infront of the engine mount......therefore id have to do a steep 90 degree pipe to get a full cold air intake system.....and as for the lights i was thinking if i took the light buckets off of the early 90 z's that i could fabricate and intall the lights off of a earlie 90's z...........ur thoughts

there is no room in front of the turbo behind the stock motor mount to fit an air filter without that goofy 90 unless you modify the mount as a lot of people have done, and even then unless you are runnign a stand alone EMS that does away with the MAF (I'm megasquirt and no airfilter at all (not recomended for road going cars)) you have to pipe to the MAF before you can pipe to a filter

as for the lights, if you have some welding and fab skills yes you can reshape the nose to accept the Z32 headlights, a LOT of fab work, but it'd be a lot cheaper and easier to just by a Z32, and they make the working on Z31 look like a walk in the park
