Ringing in the new year with more new parts. Finally got around to purchasing all new rear leaf shackles and hardware. Ran me $91.63 for everything not including the ES bushings in the pic. Now before everyone asks why I am replacing the pins and shackles it's because I have a feeling they might be tired after 15 years of holding up the truck. I'd clean up the old ones but that won't make them any less tired if they are. When I do a job I replace everything associated with that job, I don't like to say "Oh but I should have..." after a job is done. I present $150 worth of suspension restoration.

Image

As you can see I also opted for new hardware but there are a few things in this pic that I plan to replace in stainless.

I explored the Belltech leaf option but decided against it. I heard that they make the ride softer. They struck me as more of a lowrider mod than a performance mod. I could be wrong though. Instead I have a local fab shop making me steel 2" drop blocks. That's just me with my quirkiness, if it smells like lowrider material I stay away. Let me know how they turn out. I'll eat my hat if they turn out to be something special.

hmmm... that is a little interesting now that you mention it

the reason i wanted the was to rid of the blocks because of the obvious issues they have in AX... but if the ride gets softer.......... not sure how i'd like that either

on to search!

Sadly there isn't much for sport trucks. Bling trucks get all the love.

Please give a review after install. My son wants to do a modest drop, a inch and a half in the front and 2 inch blocks in the rear and 16 in wheels with 215/55/16. Any shock suggestions? Most of the shocks I have found for the Hardbody are for 4x4.
Would like for the truck to handle a bit better without doing too much.

I agree but we'll have to see how my truck performs after these mods first.

Shocks? KYB GasAJust or Monomax should be plenty for a light drop like what we have planned.

I have a set of 215/55R16 tires sitting in my garage that I took off my Millenia before I put it up on blocks. 3 tires have less than 1000 miles on them while the 4th has less than 8000 miles on. They are mounted on Mazda rims right now but can be removed. Kumho ASX. I was going to use them on my HB but I couldn't find any 16" rims I liked or could afford so I went with 15" instead. The tires have been inside my garage stored on cardboard. Aside form some dust they are in great shape.

In that situation I would have a local spring shop make me a new set of springs and have them add an extra leaf at the same time. Going to a 4-leaf spring pack might be the best thing to do.

Thanks for the input, didn't mean to jack your thread. The kid likes the Frontier wheels and I might be interested in your tires when the tax check arrives. The bonus at work looks better than last year barring any major hits the next 2 wks. Shoot me a price in a pm.

Gonna install some fog lights tomorrow and clean the truck up real good. We found Turtle wax 100g claybar kit for $10.00 at WM which was half price and came with the cleaner and lube. The snow we got was on the ground for 5 days which is rare around here.

I'm interested in seeing the sway-a-way torsion bars. Anyone got a rear sway bar on their truck? Did they use them on the Pathfinders and if so would they be interchangeable?

I have a rear sway on mine, a fun mod that I enjoy. I'll have to come up with a price on those tires for you, let me think about it for a little bit.

No rush on the tire price, Dr. got a whopping $369.00 for todays visit along with 4 prescriptions, referral to a neurologist/hand specialist and back to the family Dr. I swear one of my kids better go to med school. lol

Was your sway aftermarket? Scrounged around two junkyards today for a sway bar with no luck. The Nissan's had been picked over pretty hard but did find a matching chrome window crank and inside door handle release trim, master cylinder cap with a good gasket. Best of all we scored the hard to find plastic cowl vent cover. Total cost of $3.00 for all the goodies.

Found some chrome 15 inch rims that were 6 lug and looked like Rodeo rims. Also found a nice set of aluminum 6 lug wheels from a Durango but the guy said he did not think the bolt pattern was the same so the search continues.

Fog lights installed and work great, I'll post some picks later.

Well I have run into a bit of a snag. SAW seems to be dragging its heels when it comes to shipping my t-bars. I thought they shipped last week but come to find out they are still "down in shipping". Casey from PolyPerformance is handling the case since I purchased the bars through PP. For the last 2 days I have been asking for a tracking number and for 2 days I have been told to wait for an email. I told PP that if I don't have a tracking number tonight that I will be canceling the order...which depresses me greatly. PP said they are going to call me tonight either way, to confirm shipment or to cancel. Anyone know a place that actually stocks these things so I don't have to wait for SAW to get their heads out of their asses?

PolyPerformance has won me as a customer, Casey stuck true to his word. I got my tracking number on Monday. If this winter storm doesn't destroy the country I might have the bars Friday...MIGHT is the operative word. As for SAW, they are slow shipping and tough to get a hold of. I'll let you know my first impression of their bars as soon as they are in my hands.
