hi everyone. i have read through a lot of the issues but still confuse. anyways here is my issue. swaped the motor in. start up is clunky because of bad starter. idle issue up and down and dies too. 1st, 2nd gear pushes good 3rd starts bogging at 4500rpm 4th starts bogging at 3500-4000 rpm and 5th boggs around 3200 rpm. car cant go pass 65-70mphs because it will start bogging. (very annoying when a geo metro can pass you up). back fires every like 5 seconds (small poping noise). i did compression test 2 times. i dont have the exact numbers.120 140 135 138 second time 140 145 135 140. somewhere around therei will post exact numbers when i get home. i will also do another compression test with 4 turn overs so i can get better reading. this is what i have in the car.

red topfull exhaust test pipe, down pipenismo fprhybrid ichks bovhks intake fuel pump upgraded

just wondering if you guys got any advice on what to look for and what could be the problem with that car. i was thinking piston rings since i see no white smoke from the exhaust. ????

Check out your mafs circuit, mine had a similar problem before but much more severe and it was linked to the mafs circuit.

Other thing to check out, popped off connectors for your ic, vac leaks, and if your tps is ok.

Most likely timing. You can use a normal timing gun on a sr just use the coilpack wire insted of the spark plug wire. IIRC sr timing is 16 deg.May want to double check it in the FSM.

Also one other thing. Sometimes the rear caliper will semi freeze. Which will cause drag. Just a thnk.
