New owner with some questions.

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey all. My name is Ben, I am 31 years old and I recently bought my wife a used ex. It is a silver 08 awd journey, one owner, 41k miles.

Having a 350Z for years and years, I'm pretty familiar with the VQDE and HR platforms, which was one of my deciding factors in buying it. It is in great mechanical shape and has a few flaws, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 41K vehicle. However, there are a few things that concern me that I haven't been able to nail down.

One of them being a small electrical hiccup that occurs from time to time. During operation of the vehicle, at seemingly random times, the red brake light will illuminate, followed by a beep, and then the "VDC off", slip, LDW, and Cruise orange lights will illuminate simultaneously. At this point, the red brake light deluminates, and the other orange lights remain on. There is no change in the drivability of the vehicle, and it behaves normally, except for the lack of electronics such as: the cruise control will not set, (though pressing the cruise toggle button will turn off the "cruise" orange light.) the LDW will not sound, and the LDP will not function. All other electrical/computational components seem to function normally such as the nav, trip cOmputer, DIC, etc. When the vehicle is turned off, the lights deluminate. When the car is Cycled back on, after any amount of time, they remain off and systems function normally until the symptoms randomly and suddenly reappear again.

I have searched for a similar problem online unsuccessfully, and have taken it back to the dealership. When returned to the stealership, the engine has apparently not thrown a code when this happened, or at least failed to save it to memory according to diagnostics. Of course, when I took it, the problem was not occurring at that particular time.

Any ideas?

Secondly, and least importantly. The grey inside of the vehicle is beautiful except for some yellowing of a couple areas of the front seats. Mostly in the side bolsters. It almost looks like someone either did a lot of naked driving, or painted it with a highlighter. Anyone else experience this discolaration and know what it's from? More importantly, how to get rid of it?

Chances are you just need to check and add break fluid
