New Owner with CD Player questions

Hey all, first of all, I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Danny and I live in Northern VA. I just got a 2002 QX4, black on black.

This car did not come with the user's manual and I just had a few quick questions for you guys. The car has the navigation system, and according to the window sticker, a cd changer too. now I, for the life of me, can't seem to find this cd player. also, when i stick a cd in the slot behind the touch screen, it reads it and everything, but won't play any sounds. so basically the only thing i can listen to right now is the radio and tapes (which i have none of anymore).

So, can anyone point me in the right direction for the CDs until i can order a new manual? thanks! i'm looking forward to getting to know some people on here.

Welcome to NICO!!That's pretty much all I can offer thus far -- I have a 99, and thus have ZERO experience with that CD player -- I'm hoping someone with a later model QX4 can help us out.

The CD changer should be in the cargo area on the right hand side. There is a panel that you can remove and it should be right there. As far as the CD not playing in the Nav System I have no Idea. Does yours have the entertainment system with the LCD screen for the back seat. If so there is a button by the shifter that should say aux. If you press it, it switches the audio between the speakers and wireless headphones. That could be your problem.

Whoa they moved the changer to that spot? Mine's just a little storage area. My changer is under the passenger's seat. Didn't they have an in-dash in 01+?

If you had the Navi then it was a in-dash single disc player. I am pretty sure about the changer location.

I might be wrong though.

Oh I'm not trying to argue it. . it probably is there. Just interesting to me.

I wish I had Navi. . wish it was something easy to do on a 99. . haha

Hey thanks everyone. Yea, I have the DVD/LCD so hopefully thats where my problem is. And i'll definitely check for the cd-changer back there later. Thanks again guys!

now if i could only find an MCA 8 navigation disc my navi might actually be worth a damn...
