I got a versa, 09 sedan, bout to turn 20 and I never owned a car so it's a big deal for me. Thing drives great so far made a 4 and half hour trip from orlando to tallahassee on like a little over 20 bucks which is great but my question is maintenance related.
For someone like me who lacks extensive knowledge on the subject what are the most important things I should know bout taking care of this car?
Anything specific to this model that I should watch out for?

Also any relatively cheap and easy mods I should know bout?

Thanks in advance!

Is it the 1.6L 5-speed? In any case I'd put some tasteful lowering springs (tanabe nf-210 for example) on it, get it aligned, and just change the oil every 3-5k miles. You'd be surprised how much that 1 mod will affect the look and ride of the car. Other than that the car is pretty solid. Enjoy (especially if its the 1.6L)!

Welcome to the forums.

Maintenance related, just change the oil every ~3500 miles, rotate the tires ~7,000 miles, etc. The basics keep it running well.

Mods, try a srut bar and lowering springs. You can do it for under $400 if you do the work. Any questions on working on the car, check out Nissan Versa Tech . com
