So I payed the deposit on a black 1995 240 today, I go pay the rest when I can get a ride up there to pick it up so hopefully tommorrow or Saturday Ill have it home. SO here's what I have bought, it's a 1995 240sx, Automatic trans, looks like it had one owner (female) has 231K the body is near mint except one spot on the driver side fender where it looks like someone rubbed up against the car while parrallel parking. THe only things that I can see that are wrong with it is that it looks to have a very small lower hose leak, needs a new valve cover gasket and I'm gonna have to get me both corners of the tail light and a new passenger side parking light as all three are busted the taillight are only busted at the turn signals and its only the amber portion the bulb isnt exposed (really weird that is) the P side parking light has a pencil sized hole in it nothing major just annoying. A few new bulbs here and there and a couple hours under the hood and she'll be good as new. And I picked it up for 1400 dollars, what a steal. It runs strong (especially when I realized the OD was and turned it off ) the brakes work REALLY well so no worries there, the radio doesn't work but I have a Pioneer headunit sitting on my dresser from my other car so thats no biggy. I think aside from the high mileage it's a sweet deal. I'll keep you guys updated if anything happens. Oh and the best part it's BLACK how hot is that.

Wow, 1,400g for a zenki s14. That is a steal. I think it's supposed to run stronger with OD off because the final drive is running 1:1 with the engine as opposed to Overdrive. Either way that's a good deal. I take it you have a manual swap in mind?

Hell yeah, O haven't owned an automatic since 2000 so driving it is going to be really weird to me. I'm already scoping out parts, found a performance rebuild kit for 900 that comes with Wiseco piston performance re ring kit new rods and everything. And since I already need a new valve cover gasket I'm just going to put on a metal gasket. And since I am planning on doing a complete rebuild I'm just going to replace all the gaskets a hi-flow oil pump and I found an aluminum radiator new in the box on Ebay for 125.

Anyone know where I can find a really good in depth FAQ on how to do a transmission swap as well as a complete parts list with estimated prices.

THANK YOU>>> I added it to my favorites the second I looked at it.

The headlights are yellowed (sounds like a common problem with these cars) would it be easier to get that stuff I've read about and cleaned them inside and out or just to try to find a set of new or non-yellowed used ones andjust replace them? I spent a solid four hours searching last night and I can't find anyone selling replacement headlalmp assemblies for the S14 just the S13, why is that, are exterior replacement parts that hard to get ahold of. I couldn't even find the assemblies on Ebay just s13 parts, and as hot as the I thiknk the s15 headlights are I just don't have them in my budget right now.

If you get a used S14 headlights chances are they are just as yellow as yours. Maybe the seller cleaned it but itWILL be yellow sooner or later... New headlights are expensive... as only dealership sells it or websites selling nissan parts

Unfortunately there are no aftermarket headlight assemblies out there... Except for Euro glass headlights which costs 300 EACH headlight and in Japan they sell clear plastic cover... Its plastic and im sure it will get yellowed out sooner or later. Oh yea and its expensive.

Also there was a person here that did cleaning service for 50 dollars and had a lifetime warranty too... not sure what happened to that thread.

Anways I clean my headlights about every other month. I use wet sandpaper 2000grit to get all the surface yellow off and then use Novus 3,2,1 to remove scratches... It works and looks better than yellow but NOT perfectly clear and doesnt last long

yeah, its real easy to clean the yellow off the outside of the headlamp. i use an assortment of polishing wheels and compounds to clean headlights, and it is the best method out of anything ive seen. also, at my local nissan dealer, on display were a set of glass zenki headlights for $200 each, and they also had s15 headlights. congrats on the find.

Anyone know where I can find a FAQ on how to remove the stock stereo from an S14, I need to replace it with my Pioneer headunit and I have no idea how to get the front panel off so I can get the mounting screws holding the stereo out. Also anyone know a rough estimate of how much a harness is gonna run me, I may just hardwire ithe original harness onto my head. I did a search and nothing came up.

You have to take out whole shifter console first. Open up the arm compartment and take out the screw that's in there. Next, twist off the shift knob and pull off the center piece that is attached to the shifter boot. When you lift the arm piece out, there should be two screws visible at the bottom of the front panel, unscrew those. Take out the ash tray and there is a screw behind that too. I believe that's all there is to it. I may be a little off as I'm trying to remember it when I replaced my radio, but I hope that helps a bit.

Here is some instructions from B&M how to get the console off.

http://www.bmracing.com/media/products/pdf/65.pdf

And you can get a harness from http://www.crutchfield.com . They will get you a harness that requires no cutting etc.

BTQ, welcome to the ZENKI clan. The only thing that makes me apprehensive about your ride the super high mileage. Man, when U bought my 95 last november, it only had 76K on it.

Good luck with her thoug, and post pictures, lots of them when you get some. Or else we'll come looking for you.............

Can someone tell me where the main fusebox is in an S14... Not the one in the engine bay, the one thats normally under the dash, I need to check to see if the fuse for the stereo is blown, if it is I will replace it and see if the radio works, it sucks not having a stereo when I'm driving. What else shares the same fuse as the stereo...cigarette lighter, cause it doesn't work either.
