i just picked up a 2013 m37xs last weekend and loving the car so far. my only issue i noticed the rotors are starting to rust. My old 07 g35 did this and was frustrating but not as noticeable but now with the sport wheels i see it more, plus its a new car to me and i want to fix it.

any suggestions? i heard you can paint them but that seems like a cover up and not a solution. shouldnt infiniti cover this under warranty?

Rotors are considered normal maintenance items and not part of the warranty.

I am getting ready to put on some sport wheels and my rotors are rusty too. I had a G with the same issue too; I just replaced them with some aftermarket rotors that wouldn't rust, and am going to do the same to my M.

Surface rust does not affect the performance of the brakes so it's not considered a problem. And like Adeedpb said they will not be covered anyways. Painting them will eliminate the visual unpleasantness of them though so I say go for it.

It's only surface rust, and will not affect the performance. Paint is the only way to "remedy" this, but to me, is a non-issue.

I have seen some rust where the pads grip the rotor, but soon as I drive the car, it's gone. No other part of the rotor has ever shown rust but I use Brakemotive rotors so maybe its the factory rotors that have this problem?
