I am the proud owner of 2002 Q45 and to say I am 100% happy with my choice would be a understatement. That said I have run into a few problems and I am wondering if these are "common known issues" with hopefully simple straightforward solutions.1) Water in the spare tire well. We were deluged with a nor'easter rainstorm over the weekend and for whatever reason I had decided to check to see what kind of spare came with the car (full size spare) I found water in the spare tire well! The rest of the trunk was bone dry, carpet, styrofoam inserts everything was dry. Both trunk plugs were in place (I took one out to drain the trunk and after it was dry I put it back in. Is this a common problem with F50's?

2) Right side (passenger) mirror was working when I bought the car 2 weeks ago. For whatever reason it will no longer move?

3) Rear sunshade does not work

Thanks in advance! My biggest concern is the water entering the spare tire well.

Andrew

I have never heard of that issue in the spare tire well before, but I have seen it in other cars. The best way I have found to diagnose it is to lock yourself in the trunk with a flashlight (remote in hand) and have a trusted friend spray water over the rear of the car with a garden hose. Usually it's best to do this without a sprayer so that the water can "sheet" over the car in different areas.

Then it's just a matter of finding the water and fixing the leak. On one car it was a bad seam weld in the trunk gasket area and I patched it using silicone.

Good luck!

Did you ever figure this one out?

Yes I figured it out today. The leak was coming in thru the passenger sider rear taillight. I took the tail light off and used some 3M Body putty adhesive, to attach the gasket. I ran a hose over the rear of the car and no more water in the spare tire well.

Excellent - and thanks for the update! It's always helpful to update these threads since problems tend to be common in a model line or year. You never know when another member, sometimes years later, will be searching for an answer to the same problem.
