First and foremost, my handle is a reference to my golf game... so let's save the pedestrian jokes. Thank you in advance.
In 1996, my mother-in-law purchased a G20 from the dealership. She drove it for 12 years, but only accumulated 112,000 miles. One day she drove it into the back of a landscaping trailer, activating the airbags and rendering the car "totaled". A friend of my in-laws deals in used vehicles, and got the car at scrap value. He rebuilt it, and I purchased it a month ago.
Now, the problem. The right front headlight does not work, either in low or high beam mode. I found that the 15A fuse was blown, so I attempted to replace it. It sparked and burnt upon insertion.
I am aware that this indicates a dead short, but I am at a loss for where to find it. I have followed the wiring harness from the right headlight, under the radiator, and around to the fusebox, but I cannot find a place where it is obviously crimped.
This is a great car. I love the fuel economy and the nimble handling. I just dont want a ticket for an inoperative headlight. I repair assembly machines for a living. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
