So yea just got to Colorado Springs, and day after i got here went and picked up a 1993 240 SX Vert. Not in the best condition but the fame is beautiful no rust at all. Only rust so far i have seen on the car is where the damn antenna is. I think i got a decent deal (600). it amuses me of how some people know so little about cars. The guys thought it had a injector go bad lol. took me ten mins of looking up the issue and turns out its the valve cover gasket well more precise the one for the spark plugs. also had issues with front passenger suspension apparently hit a curb bent some pieces. Must of been one hell of a hit to bent the lower control arm break the tension arm and make the tie rod a L shape lol. you say damn that sucks i say hell means i gotta upgrade lol so gonna go with factory Control arms and megan everything else. ohh yea also gonna replace the top just because its faded and the window is messed up all in all i think i got a good deal considering the body shape and the motor runs good IE no smoke smooth shifting trans. enuf of the chatter on with the pic.

Wow, congrats. I have mine in Raleigh, NC but live on Peterson in CS. I saw a black one the other day on Marksheffel Road. I doubt I'll ever bring mine back the to Springs but hopefully I'll see yours around.

I have a set of OEM tension rods with good bushings if needed. Also have a set of FLCAs with whiteline bushings (though wasn't planning on selling them).

plus the panels are in awesome condition minus one spot. Also has the factory door speakers with amp and they both work.

well the way i look at it is 1) cant go wrong with less weight 2) no electronics or switches to mess up only thing bad is i have to find a way to get my quarter windows to work now considering they are routed through the door locks :-(

Ok so after a while of not updating i guess i can do a small update

Auto to manual Swap
So sorry abotu the fact that i didnt take alot of pics was kinda on a time restraint
Image
Pulling the motor
So pulled the motor redid the rear main as well as thermostat and waterpump and new plugs and wires

Ok so i picked up a set of megan street coils from my boy which i cant find a picture of to save my life well in doing the coils also did my z32 brake swap

Image

then i took a set of the se wheels and went to work i dont think it turned out too bad

Image

and thats basically how she sits at the moment
Image

But since i have been away i have ordered a few parts

ka24der supercharger kit
5 x 550 cc DW injectors(dont ask)
PDM racing front lip
PDM wangan wing for a coupe
a decent set of wheels dont really care for the offset though
i have everything to finish my SC kit as of now besides the little things
Image

they were cheap enuf until i can find a decent price on some LMGT2s

no i know you guys are like yea lets see it together but that will have to wait gonna do some resto on it first as it needs work gonna be pulling the tired s13 motor in favor of a fresh rebuild s14 motor. alot of body work and hopefully some paint.

When the teardown starts i will try and update as often as possible

Also picked up a coupe for my brown interior parts

you ask why im not working on it is because of the fact that i am still in Colorado and not back home in tennessee where the vert is.

so yea today has not been the best. A couple days ago wife called and told me that the vert top wouldnt go down. I was like ok fine i will fix it when i get home. Then today she calls me and tell me "i didnt do it " well turns out she tried to put the top down manually without tell me and broke the frame. Now i have read u can do it manually if you do something with the pump but not sure as to what needs to be done. Dont worry about the frame though having a whole top and frame delivered to my house later today. Guess it is a good thing i am ripping it all apart for restoration. anyway more work for me when i get home.

Ah "i didnt do it" and "i dont know whats wrong" is said alot when it comes to the vert and wife. When we got ours the roof was in bad shape and so was the back window. Plus the top was already set to manual. Previous owner said it leaked fluid? Idk but he said to make it automatic again just reconnect a line and flip a switch on the motor? He tried to show me but it was 11 at night so I just nodded and smiled.

Also just wondering what site and how much did you pick up your top and back window for? Currently watching a couple cloth tops on ebay but not to sure of the quality plus they are a little pricey.

Thats the same one we were watching. That seller also has a vinyl one for 249 thats also on my watch list lol.

Still deciding about doing it in the garage or pay a shop to do it. The write up I read seems like a pain in the arse.

actually alot of shops wont touch one unless they order it cause of fitment issues, the last time i called around in order to replace it was like 1200 or so alot cheaper to do it urself as far as vinyl you dont want it to look like a cheap mustang one do you? go with OEM
