Okay, I think I figured out how to post my pictures so I will try it. Hope it works. You might have to click on the link to see them but we will see once I post it. Bought my 06 M35 end of January. I think I got a great deal at $23,738 with 37,000 miles with all the options it comes with. Sport, nav, technology, entertainment, journey. So far, I love the car and dont think I will feel any different down the road. I have been wanting one since they first came out and I finally worked enough to get one. I went from a 98 2-door Honda Accord V-6, which I will add I thought had all the options. It was my highschool/college ricerocket that I put a lot of money and time into. Might I say, I was mistaken about all the options on the accord! Wow, this Infiniti M has it all and some. The V-8 would have been nice, but after test driving one I just felt like I would get in trouble with that much power. Plus, the infiniti dealership told me that the V-6 engine was rated in the top 10 best engines. Not sure what that really means, but it sounded good. I just ordered the lip spoiler to give it more of a sporty look and hopefully someday soon I will add the aero kit. I am also considering puchasing the new red Sport emblem that comes on the 09' model just to be a little different on my 06'. Obviously it doesnt look any different than any of the other stock 06' M35 sport models out there, but I wanted all to see my purchase since I am so proud of it. First, hope everyone can view the pics. Second, hope everyone enjoys the pics.

Great looking car!

What is the red toggle switch in the console?

That's a great looking M you scored there.

Nice pics and I hope you enjoy your new ride.

Yeah I noticed that little switch and had to wonder what its purpose is too?

The toggle switch by-passes the ground for the DVD player which makes it so you can watch the DVD player on the screen while driving. I guess whoever owned it before me installed it. However, with days of confusion after buying the car I found that when that switch is turned to the on postion it interferes with the navigation system and completely stops the nav arrow in its place. Its the weirdest thing. As soon as I turn it off, it starts recognizing where I am at again and works fine. They must have hooked it up wrong. I am going to try to fix it but havent gotten around to it yet. Any ideas why this is happening? I cant put my mind around it since its just a ground by-pass. What a crazy thing to happen with a simple switch as I thought my nav system was messed up and brought it in to be checked. Luckily it was covered under warrany or I would have had to pay for the diognostics. Oh well, I dont need to watch movies while driving anyways right?

I thought that is what it was, but I had to ask. My switch is in the glove box for my Nav Hack. When I turn my hack on, my navigation stops working properly. When I turn the movie off and flip the switch it takes about 30 seconds for the navigation to catch up, the faster you are driving the longer it seems to take.

So I guess this is a normal thing? It must be the way you have to by-pass it. Have you heard of anyway to by-pass it without it messing with the navigation like this? I wonder if everyone that has the by-pass has the same problem? It just sucks because you cant be using the navigation on a trip and have the DVD showing on the screen for the passengers. Im sure someone will or has come up with something.

Can anyone help us with this problem?

Nice looking M!

When the switch is turned to watch DVD's while driving (not recommended), the Nav will not function. Flip the switch the other way and it "should" allow you to gain access to the Nav functions while you are driving and or in motion. Now, supposedly when you switch between these two functions there is a delay in the GPS tracking that takes it a while to reacquire your exact location. Hope this helps understand it better.

Its a little confusing at first. It took me a little bit to figure it out. Eventhough you figured out how to do it before I could answer, let me know if you have any other questions. Ill look for your post to get a glimpse at what I am sure is a good looking ride.

welcome and nice car. Your switch is hooked up correctly, that's how it has to work.

I bet whoever owned it is a member here or at freshalloy, and that is how they figured out how to do the nav hack in the first place.
