Hi folks,
Great forum, with lots of useful information.
Took a road trip in my newly purchased gently used 2012 Nissan Rogue SL with 24,000 miles on it. Between 2,700 and 2,800 RPMs, I hear this somewhat electrical buzzing sound coming from directly in front of me and the steering wheel, likely from the engine compartment. It doesn't happen all the time, but it seems to develop most consistently after stopping for fuel, after a toll booth, etc. Always between 2,700 and 2,800 RPMs. The buzz sounds more electronic than mechanical, is fairly high pitched and almost sounds like a light saber cutting through the air. The transmission also sounds a little noisy or "guttural" as it revs down to baseline when I come to a complete stop.
There also seems to be a fair amount of rattling from the front of the car, particularly when going over bumps.
The car is CPO and we are within the 90 day warranty provided by the dealer (we just bought the car 2 weeks ago...it certainly looked like it was in great shape).
To the dealer on Monday. What specific points should we bring up and what can we expect based on other's experiences? Does this sound like a transmission issue?
Any help the Jedi masters of Nissan can provide on this forum would be greatly appreciated. I did search the forums, but found a lot of conflicting information that may or may not apply here so I want to make sure I provide specific details.
Thanks, in advance!
SR
