Hi G37 Gurus, I am very happy to join G37 family. I just bought my 2011 red G37 sedan, and really like the voice of engine and the tech design inside.

Would you give me some suggestions on how to make good break-in to my new car in first 1k miles? and when to change oil and oil filter for the first time? shall i just do that in dealer?

Welcome to NICO! Make sure to look around the site for tons of info and mod ideas!

To break in your car properly, here's what I recommend.

1. For the first 1200-1500 miles:
-Do not rev the engine past 4k
-No racing off the line or hard starts.
-Do not use cruise control for extended periods of time. (The engine should not stay at the same RPM for any extended period of time.)
-No hard stops, the brakes need to set. (If you have too, you have too...stay safe!)

2. Change the oil at 500-600 miles. If you have a free oil change, now is the time to use it. I always replace the filter when I do an oil change...its cheap enough. This will clear the engine of any break-in oil. Not necessary to use synthetic. Still follow break-in procedures!
3. Change the oil at 1200-1500 miles with a good synthetic. I recommend royal purple oils.

After the second oil change, drive the car like normal!
