New owner of 2010 Ex!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Bought one privately last month, Only problem......Not many have been sold. Less than 1050 in the US last year, Buyers are not "enthusiasts" Forums are pretty quiet, Not a lot of excitement about this car. Thankfully there are G35 forums which is basically the same car without the hatch back. The Infiniti Help forum is great for DIY on the EX though.

Welcome! I have the same color 2010, although mine has the touring pack with the 19 inch wheels. A lot of folks have done wheel swaps, upgraded lights, LEDs, etc., and recently a pioneer figured out how to add paddle shifters. Some stuff is ported over from G35/G37s. I added a R2C intake that had been on my G37, but I followed the lead of a member who posted how to do that. Some folks have swapped out exhaust components for G37 coupe units, and there have been engine tuning experiments as well. You should be able to find some of these threads through a search. But Kingfrog is right that it is a smaller pool of people with less modding fever than you'll find on the MYG37 site. You might want to monitor the G sites to get ideas and explore the fit on the EX with the folks here.

Hi there,

Maybe not the most appropriate topic, but in 6 days I will be the proud owner of a 2008 Infiniti EX37 GT. So I might as well introduce myself here.

I'm a 54 year old "boy" from The Netherlands, a.k.a. "Holland", and live in The Hague.
My car history exists of 3 Alfa Romeo's (Alfasud, 33 and 75), 2 Fiats (131 Mirafiori and Ritmo S85), 2 Daihatsu Feroza's, a Rover Estate, a 2000 Ford Cougar and my present car, a Chrysler Crossfire Roadster.

It's time for me to grow up and because I'm 6 Ft 6, (which isn't practical in a Crossfire) I decided to buy the beautiful EX37, a car that is very rare in Holland. Actually I wanted an FX, but the only ones that can be bought here for a reasonable price are pre-2008 and imported from The USA (Miles instead of KMs). So that's why I bought the 2nd best: the EX37.

Actually my EX37 is the 1st new Infiniti ever sold in Holland. That's why there are several reviews in car magazines about it, like this one:
http://www.autowereld.com/rijimpressies ... tikel=8023

Ok, that's it for now. Time to read some threads. See you around!
Rovalo.

Congratulations! Whether the EX is second to the FX is a matter of taste. The FX is larger and more expensive, but in 6 cyclinder form is also heavier and slower, and probably not as nimble. In fact, Motor Trend summed up one article on both by saying the FX was the best reason to buy the EX. Regardless, you are in for a treat. Nice that even in 2008 it came with the 3.7 engine in Europe. That didn't happen here until recently.

Holy crap...

Prijs (vanaf) : € 67.950,-

At the bottom of the article in that link, there is a price of 67,950 Euros... and so I converted it to Canadian Dollars and it worked out to $97,815.82 or in US Dollars, it worked out to $93,673.39

No wonder it's the first one sold in Holland. Very few people can afford them.

That's correct. At the moment a new EX37 GT Premium costs around 90.000 € in Holland, which is about 120.000 $.
Our tax system for cars is quite complicated and consists of regular tax (21 %) and "CO2 tax". The EX is categorised in class G, which is the highest class. So on top off the regular price (40.000 €), you have to pay the tax (8.000 €) and CO2 tax (42.000 €). Which makes the car more than twice expensive!

Yikes! The taxes cost more than the car? And I complain about the 6.25% sales tax in my state.

Our tax system is the reason that cars like Ford Mustang, several Dodges and Chevrolets aren't being sold new here. They would cost more than 100K $.

That price is equivalent to

$167,033.00 US

My local dealer let me drive the '10/'11 EX when my car was in for service. The EX is a nice small crossover that's fun to drive and can be quite well equipped. The Infiniti EX is certainly "seldom seen" on the streets. :)
