Hello wkim. I also have a g-coupe 6 speed and I believe I can help you with this issue. The light in the rev window is a rpm indicator which you can set manually to go on at any rpm. Simply toggle your trip button in the dash. You should see as you toggle through trip a, trip b, then you should see an rpm setting. If I remember correctly, hold down the trip reset button when the rpm is displayed and you can select when the light will be triggered. I think if you never want it to come on you need to set it to 7000 rpm. Hope this helps.

I'm thinking WESIDE is right. I had an 04 so I don't know the procedure for changing the RPM setting. The 6MT 350Z has a rev light as well. Check the owner's manual, and that should outline the procedure.

i think hes asking about the actual yellow rev light that stays on, not the blinking red light that tells you to shift. but yes, you can change when the red blinking light comes on based on rpms, but the yellow rev light does not go away. By the way, any of you guys have bluetooth handsfree on your vehicle? and if you do, does the sound only come out of one speaker? (passenger front side)

There are 2 different lights or the same one lights up 2 different colors? I don't know...I've never drove an 05+ 6MT.

it stays on...it basically turns red telling you when to shift...i guess kinda like a factory shift light...and like the first guy said it is adjustable...but other than that i'm not sure if its possible to just turn off the rev light...if i'll remember i'll check at work tomorrow

the light doesnt turn two different colors. they are separate lights. The orange light that says REV is on and will always stay on (to the best of my knowledge) and really doesnt do anything at all. A red light (in the shape of a rectangle) is under the REV light and is adjustable and will blink 500 RPMs before the set number. i.e) if you set the RPM at 4000, the light will blink and 3500 and become solid at 4000. hope this helps. But to make a long story short, there is nothing wrong with your car just because the REV light is on. Which is prob what you are worried about. i know because i was wondering why the heck it was on too.

Just hold the trip odometer button down for a few seconds. You'll see flashing numbers that coorespond to the the RPM for the redline warning light. I have mine set for 7000. This will not do anything to the car (cut the fuel ect...), its only a visual warning. Just another cool feature that these cars have.
