I just bought an 89 240sx. It's in nice shape, got it for 1500 from a guy in Pasadena, Cali. ANYWAY. I was wondering where the best place is to get parts like door and moonroof seals, side markers, interior trim pieces, moonroof latch, etc. Do any of you know of a good website? I've been unable to find the seals and latch. My trunk leaks like the Titanic. I guess the guy tried to wash it before selling it and now I've got a literal puddle of water in the spare tire well. Sh*t there must be about half a gallon of water in there. I can hear it splashing around when I turn. Um. About the parts though, would I be better off just going to a dealership for little stuff like that? Junk Yard? Thieving in Inglewood? Thanks for the help. PEACE. Tek

You can still get quite a few parts from your local Nissan dealer ot try Academy Nissan online. Keep your eye on ebay and the buy/sell/trade part of this site for many used parts. Things like a sunroof latch can be expensive from Nissan when you can get one from a junkyard or ebay etc....pretty cheap. If Nissan tells you they don't have a sunroof seal, keep pressing them; they DO sell it. I think it's called "protector, glass" in that order of words.

I know the dealer can be expensive. I'll look into the academy site. Thanks again. PEACE. Tek.

Do you know for sure if the water is coming from the hatch? If not, then read this: http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/water_leaks.htm

i had the same leak in my hatchbak, remove some of the rear paneling to get to the lights and such, remove carpet and spare tire, then tape a hose to the top of ur car so it runs down the back and turn it on a lil and sit in the car and watch for a leak, then silicone the hell outa it, my leak was above my lights where the factory goop didnt quite cover

Thanks for the help. Yeah I read the article after I made that post. I will give it a try. I found the little plug too, that's pretty funny. I'm gonna try that hose trick. Thanks again for all the input. PEACE. Tek.
