Hello Guys, I just traded my 2007 M for a 2011 M37X. I checked the car out as much as I could but you know how this goes with used cars you always find something
well the car runs great so far , however I was able to get I light under the hood to check things out and i could see some wetness on the edge of the right valve cover
not much, could have been oil spilled from an oil change not sure so i carefully spayed it off to see if it comes back. My car has some power train warranty left but I plain on buying more. and flushing the transmission. car has 55K

Is there any other things I should know about if I have to replace a valve cover gasket i can live with that

Thanks

Nah these cars are pretty much as reliable as the Y50's...no major issues other than maybe the V8's having some weird engine noise at startup which some say is normal and some say isn't (including some Infiniti employees I've spoken too).

You know that the transmission is not required to be serviced (no flush or oil change needed for its life). There is not a dipstick either, but there is info in the service manual on how to add/check fluid (with a special filler tool).

If you are going to flush the transmission (and I'm like you - it just feels like the right thing to do) I would only have Infiniti do the work (PS. I don't think they would try to talk you out of it - I'd be curious to know what they say).
Good luck

I'd definitely get all of the fluids flushed once, just for good measure. Your mileage is at a good point to get that done once and then never have to worry about it again (unless you plan to keep the car past 120kmi or so).

As for warranty, I'd call around and see where you can find the Elite Warranty for cheapest. I don't know if Scottsdale Infiniti or Circle Infiniti is still the best place to get it.

I took my 2012 M37x to the dealer yesterday to have the 4-wheel alignment and transmission, transfer case, and both differentials flushed. The diffs and transfer case don't look hard to do yourself, but I opted to just get everything done at once while they were under it and inspect things while they were at it since it's new to me.

I flushed the brake fluid (used Valvoline DOT 3&4 synthetic), coolant (used Nissan Max Life blue), and power steering fluid (used any brand Dexron VI ATF) and changed all of the filters myself almost immediately after buying it.

How many miles are on yours? I just got a 2012 M37X also, it has 47k miles.

Just ticked over 85,000 miles and purchased it with 83,400. I'm the second owner. Looks to have been maintained well. So far the maintenance (preventative mostly, and a few repairs) have cost me about $1500.

Mx done myself:
Coolant change - $40
Radiator cap replacement - $10
Brake flush - $12
Oil/filter change - $43 for Pennzoil Platinum synthetic & Fram Ultra filter
Engine air filter (2) change - $17
Cabin air filter change - $23
Power steering fluid change - $29 (for a whole gallon of Dexron VI ATF)
Rain sensor repair - $25
PCV valve (2) replacement - $18
Fog lights replacement (one burnt out, but replacing both with better aftermarket) - $68
Serpentine belt - $26
Brakes (rear pads worn badly, but replacing all pads and rotors with quality parts) - $340
Interior LED conversion - $40
SUBTOTAL: $691 to restore her to great health

I had the dealer change all the fluids under the car (ATF, both differentials, and transfer case) just due to my lack of knowledge on the vehicle and time constraints. They also did a 4 wheel alignment and tire balance and rotation. All together it cost me $630. I could have saved $200 by doing the diffs myself. The transfer case looks easy enough too. I'll be doing those myself next time. Transmission and alignment are the only things I'll leave to the dealer from now on.

So far, that's $1321 roughly in primarily preventative maintenance at 85,000 miles. Only brakes, rain sensor, and an oil change were really NEEDED at this point and time. Spark plugs ($65) and one of the idler pulleys ($60) will be replaced during down time this summer. Other than that, I have no foreseeable maintenance in my future :)

OK Guys, my new M37 is going to the Infiniti dealer tomorrow for a few things, however I was suppose to get my registration from the Used car dealer Friday come to find out there is an issue with the tittle mind you I've sighed all the loan paper work the car has a clean carfax one owner, vin matches title, but when the dealer tried to register the car the registry is saying the VIN is coming up as a 2012 it's a 2011 confirmed that with Infiniti consumer affairs, the car is off lease out of new york. the dealer said he has to go down to the RMV to resolve this tomorrow,

Should I be concerned?

No idea how it works out your way. Interestingly, I just got my title last week and it lists the wrong address (mispelling) (which doesn't matter too much) and the wrong model (says M7X) which I have no idea....the BMV guy didn't ask about it but did notice the wrong address spelling. Didn't seem to give me any grief over it.

Good luck with your M37x! Mine is running great! Can't wait for my new rotors to get in tomorrow so I can do the brakes :)

It happens. Small defects exist. Be happy it's repaired now and you should be mostly trouble free for some time to come. Preventative maintenance is key, though, as with any vehicle.

So I've been driving the car so far it's OK but, i was driving normal and I seen my AT Check light come on for about 2 seconds then went off car was running fine I'm little worried I just bought this car. the good news is I'm still under power train warranty so If it happens again it's going to the dealer, I also just had the transmission service done at the dealer. has anyone ever seen this light come on while driving

Nope, I never had seen it. I just had my ATF changed at the dealer 300 miles ago. Take it back and see if there's a code. Maybe the fluid level is wrong? Maybe it's nothing.
