FYI, it was determined in other previous threads that the original oil filter is preferrable to the new one although the new one is still a good filter.

I am sure they gave u the right part, they deal with Q's all the time.

The 60U00 is the "higher end" filter that fits nearly all Nissan/Infiniti's but is OEM only for Infintis and the more demanding Nissan applications (VG30DET, VG30DTT etc)The other filter 55Y00 had been the number for the others (eg VG30DE, VQ 30 etc etc) and is now applicable for all engines that previosly called for the 15208-60U00This part# you mentioned I am unfamiliar with, maybe another filter we dont know of yet.hmm, maybe an oversize?

Well the reason I mentioned it to begin with is I remember when I changed oil the first time, the filter was blue, and I remember the discussion about the new filter and I thought someone said it was white, anyway when I took this filter out of the box it was tightly wrapped in a clear paper, sealed is a better word, so I thought wow, I must have gotten the better original. Thanks for responding and if you find out what the story is let me know. Wayne

A wrapped filter is always a higher end Nissan filter.I also emailed this link to joe.

I think there was another part number out there for a few weeks that was just a renumbered 55Y00. I'll be interested to see what Joe says!

The part number 15208-H8904 was actually used by Infiniti between the period of supersession with the 15208-60U00 & 15208-55Y00. It is the same filter as the 55Y00. I have no idea why they did this since the 55Y00 has been in our inventory since day one (original M30 filter). Don't worry Wayne it will fit your Q just fine.-Joe

Check some of the local Nissan dealers in your area to see if they have the old filters in stock. Once the part numbers supercede in the computer, the old parts just sit.

I found one dealer with a large number of the old filters they were keeping for their Twin Turbo customers. He sold me twelve of them.
