no offense to your likings, but do you need all those lights in the front? but nice custom install though on the grille

I agree, all the extra lights make the car look weird...just too much going on up front

I like the grille, I would paint the top chrome piece black, just my opinion

Thanks for the feedback!
1. The center part of the lower grille had a big gaping hole for many years that begged to put something there(ie: another grille, lights?). I installed PIAA fog lights on top tier that tucked in and away. Later I intalled PIAA LED running lights on lower portion. Both are controled by switch near the steering wheel.
2. Due due the nature of the older M's having that trim piece on the hood, I wrestled on how to match the new chrome grill. I would consider having it painted black, question: How do you paint over the existing trim piece that is chrome?(assuming with OEM paint).

That gaping hole is there to force air into the engine bay since there is a trim piece blocking air getting around the engine from under the car. However, I seriously doubt that a couple fog lamps would cause much of a decrease in air flow. I like that grille!

ok...hold up...I had to switch from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro to really see the details of your custom work...

I didn't realize you put lights within your grille...? A+ for creativity, but I just think there are too many lights going on and the size and shapes all differ... really busy without a flow... my younger son says it looks like teeth (the lower set of lights)
:gapteeth: ..... just having a little fun....nothing harmful my man!! :bigthumb:

...the upper hood piece can be stripped and painted....I painted that piece on the hood to match the car...

do you have some side shots of your ride...looks like you have aftermarket wheels....any other mods???

how about some pix of your lights at night..?

Hey CPJ!
Thanks for the kudos regarding the grille and LED inbedded lights into the grill, they look awesome during the day and night!(6500K and looks like high end Audi lights)

You asked about MODs:
1. My last mod for awhile will be in two days: which is Akebono Big Brake Kit, can not wait!
Current MODS:
a. 120LED lights in stock FOG housing
b. Tint on all five windows.
c. Megan axle back exhaust, perfect tone, no drone in cabin!
d. LED puddle lights and LED license light
e. Interior lights converted to LED.
f. Motordyne MREV 2 lower plenum matched with 5/16 Plenum spacer
g. Injen CAI, short ram
h. UPREV tuned after engine mods.
Speed shop that performed engine mods works on mostly G35's and 370Z's, did throw at him the idea of getting a Vortech supercharger, until I got a alot of cautionary feedback about all the dangers to your engine and transmission. Would have been cool though!
Long live the M!

Hey Shank!
Thanks for the kind words regarding both the grille and the emblem!
I wanted to make the emblem different, so I took an M35 rear trunk emblem, attached to a chrome back plate. Although you may not notice from the pictures, but I then added Jet Black crystals to bling it out!
Love live the M!

I'm not a huge fan of lots of chrome on cars but the lights in the grill are slick! Nice work

This thread is more than 2 years old. I haven't seen the OP post in a while...and it was a custom grille. You won't find it. Sorry...
