New oil pan, weird noise

Hey everyone. So i have a 2004 pathfinder (228,000kms). It fell off a jack and punctured a small hole in the oil pan and dented it pretty bad. All the oil drained out. I was in the process of getting a new pan from the dealer. Installed it today along with a new alternator and both serpentine belts. Started the vehicle and it is making a really weird noise, like a grinding kind of noise. My dad is the one who installed everything and heard the noise so once i get home ill see if i can elaborate more on what kind of noise it is. He immediately shut the engine back off. Any ideas what it could be and where we could go from here? Throw the car away? It was running perfectly fine before this happened. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: So my dad took the oil pan off after draining all the oil and took a long screwdriver and stuck it into the "pipe" with the mesh that i believe takes the oil up and pulled it down. It came down a bit. He put everything back together and put oil back in, started it up and the noise is gone! I shall be praying that it stays gone and that that was the problem. I guess when the pan dented inwards it pushed that pipe up and it was touching something.
