I think Mistah Limits has a removal steering wheel but not sure. I thought I saw his steering wheel on the dash at the last carshow we both did... Maybe if he see this he can chime in.

No airbag + no harness?

Some brilliant thinking going on here.

Also, dat wood.

Terrible idea in general, and I'm sad that you already bought it.

if you're gonna use a harness, it's recommended you go with a roll cage as well. harnesses are designed to keep you securely in an upright position, and if your car flips and you're trapped upright... well you know what happens next.

i will post pics when all are in. the problem with doing a cage or even a conventional harness bar is my daughter who sits in the back seat. the bar i had made only goes behind my seat

I probably wouldn't do a roll cage for a daily driver car. So I settled for a harness bar as of last year.

It gives you an idea of how much space you'll have. Since you got the coupe, you might not have room in the back seats

That looks like a joke.

Might as well fasten a harness to a miata "style bar."

I know the company must have fantastic justifications for why that bicycle frame tubing is sufficient, but I wouldn't be comfortable with anything less than proper 2in steel tubing welded in.

+1 not to mention you'd get a better look out of it and more functionality.

I wasnt going to post on this but, what I quoted made me change my mind! I'll be honest, this is a bad idea put simply. Because when you install this your SRS (aka air bag system) will be deactivated! Not just the front driver air bag, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!! Now, if this was a track car, sure, ok!! But being a DD= very bad idea! And driving your daughter around in it??? I dont know how to put it in words other then if you got in a real accident, she would be 80% more likely to get really HURT!!! Then there would be legality repercussions aimed at you doing that regardless of what happens!! So, how much is this thing off ebay worth to you :tisk: ?

I apologize if i sound like an a**, but this isnt something small like an intake bolt on...

it will NOT disable the entire system, i have the little connector that tricks the system into thinking it is there, yes its a ebay product but many reputable companys use these quick releases

just a regular connector and a resistor. this was a write up in car and driver.
1. Remove the steering wheel and unhook the wires to the airbag.
Energize the ignition and the airbag warning light should appear.
2. Use a multimeter to determine the resistance across the driver's
side airbag circuit with the airbag reconnected and the ignition energized.
Record that value. (If you have any resistors lying around of that
resistance bridge those the two airbag wires (airbag removed now) and
energize the ignition. The light should be out.)
3. If you don't have any spare resistors, then leave the driver's side
airbag connected and fish in the dash until you are able to remove the
passenger's side airbag. Same process as before. Unhook the wires,
energize the ignition and test to see if the airbag warning light comes on
(it should). When it does, again measure the resistance across the circuit
with your multimeter. Record the value.
4. Go to Electronics store (Radio Shack or equivalent) and buy
resistors that are the same ohm values as the ones you recorded during your
test. You'll probably need to solder on some sort of connectors so that the
resistors will be able plug into the airbag wiring. Install everything and
test one airbag at a time so that you can determine which one is causing the
light to remain on (if that happens) after you've installed the resistors.

"I'm looking into same thing. A buddy who did this in his talon(I know it's not a Subaru) did the wheel swap and his airbag light stayed on. But when he hit a pole at 70mph, remaining airbags deployed. Don't know about a resistor fix"
but i have a connector and a 2.2 ohmn resistor, which will trick the airbag control unit into thinking that it is there

Still have the belief this is not a good idea but it's your car ;)... Oh, I'm not hating by the way. More like trying to look out for u if you didn't think that.

Very odd looking interior. The steering wheel looks kinda silly for a car like an Altima.

What he means is that the wood-like trim accents look like stickers, aka vinyl wrapped.
