New Note could be new Versa hatch for North America

Did you see the release of the new Note in Japan last week? That could explain why the latest Tiida hatchback has not yet made it to America, if it ever will. The folks in Yokohama may have been waiting for the Note to debut before deciding to send it to America as the new Versa hatch. Are the dimentions of this new model simlar to the current Versa? I can see the 1.6 with CVT as the power set-up for the Note (or Versa hatch) if and when it comes to America. 2014?

From what I can tell, the Note looks to be more of a CUV(think Mazda 5 and Ford C-Max) and not a 5 door hatch. I would assume the next Versa hatch would be based directly upon the Sedan, but i've heard nothing for sure yet.
