I am a new owner of a 2011 Nissan Rogue SL. It is about 5 months old with around 7500 miles on it. It has been running pretty flawless so far. Yesterday I was in AWD full-time mode on a highway when I got cut off by a car. This was during the freak October snowstorm here in the northeast and there was a ton of slush, ice and snow on the roadway. I was pushed into a left shoulder that had probably a foot of heavy slushy, plowed ice/water and I drove straight through it. Other than a huge splash, the vehicle handled well, but it sounds much louder and rougher now on acceleration, and it seems to vibrate more. Same thing today, the temp has risen a lot so there is no more snow on the ground but it just seem the car runs much rougher/louder and vibrates a ton more on acceleration. What does anyone think might have gone awry?

Welcome to the forum bhbest!

A few possibilities may explain the vibration issue you have:

1) You've lost a wheel weight and the wheel is now imbalanced. Inspect the wheel for missing weights. They are located on the inside of the wheel rim either clipped on or held in place with adhesive tape.

2) Assuming it's still cold enough, you may have an accumulation of ice and show both inside the wheel and in the suspension causing all sorts of issues. Parking the vehicle in a warm garage will melt it quite easily.

3) You have damaged the wheel or suspension. This will require a visit to the dealer or local mechanic for inspection.

Both number 2 and 3 it turns out. A piece of ice must have come up and bent the exhaust/ shield. It was straightened out by my local Nissan dealer and the noise is gone.
Thanks for the repky!
