A big hello to everyone here @ Nico, as I am a newbie Nissan enthusiast. I have just recently purchased my 1990 Nissan 240sx (my first ever Nissan) and just absolutely love it. It does have a few problems that aroused the first week of driving it. One injector on the motor seems to be leaking, as it sometimes looks wet and theres a stain on the manifold where it is seated. Is this a bad injector or do i just need the seal? The engine also seems to want to stall and revs at 1500 rpm to stay running sometimes ever since i noticed this. I'm guessing the rough running problem is from this "leaky" injector? Also, i was wondering what is involved in doing a 240sx to s13 silvia conversion....is it just a kit or do i have to cut, weld or modify the body?

Any help on the above would be greatly appreciated from a New Nissan Enthusiast. Thanks in advance, and once again, hello to everyone at Nico!

congradulations on the car and welcome to nico!

the injector seals may be leaking, in that case just replace the seals, but if you replace them and it still leaks, it may be an internal leak (i had to replace all 4 of mine). the rough running could be an injector leaking, i wouldnt doubt it.

im not sure on the silvia conversion, i dont think it requires any cutting or welding, if you ask that one in 240 technical you will probobly get a better response

As for the silvia conversion. I believe all you need is the bumper, fenders, hood, and headlights. I think you may need a bracket for the headlights (if it doesn't already have one) to mount it to the chassis.

Everything else should be ok.

I know that raceonusa - on of our sponsors, sells complete silvia front ends. They also sell these on ebay (think the price is a wee bit cheaper). They will probably be much more knowledgable about the complete front end conversion.

the idle and roughness would be a direct effect of the injector if it is infact leaking.

the motor needs to idle high inorder to move the fuel that is being dumped in, or it will stall.

get new seals. be careful with the injectors when you remove them. side mount injectors like to stick in the rail. if you break one, you might as well replace all four.

if you find out you need an injector, let me know. I have 4 ka24e injectors and all of them work.

you would be better off getting all orings/seals for all injectors. [as opposed to just one]

remove the rail before you try to remove the injectors, so if they stick, you have a much better chance of removing them without breaking them. also, if the rail is out when you install the injectors, its easier to see if you pinched a seal, so you can correct the problem without putting it all back together just to find out it needs to be taken apart again to reseat a seal.

change the fuel filter while your at it.
