:help

Definately the FNG here.. Getting rid of my clunker to buy something for the summer to have fun with, and later on fully modify.. I found a 91 240sx SE for sale not too far from where I live, with 125,#### miles on it.. I am not sure if $2500.00 is worth investing on something with that many miles.

Granted I am replaceing the suspension as soon as possable, and the engine is gone around 8-12 months after that (SR20, yessssss)

Also I wanted to know what to look for when I go take a gander at the car, like reoccuring problems in the 240 that would be evident to me. I'm no mechanic, but I know what is what around the car, to a point.

Thanks for any help given. :D

1. Look at the CV boots, to see if they're leaking2. Ball joint was bad on my car when i got it3. and the Clutch Master/and Slave Cylinder were leaking after i got it too 4. Look for excessive oil on the engine, some sweating is normal5. Try to see the car when it is cold, or in another words start it up when it's cold so you can see what comes out of the tailpipes (don't forget the residue left over on the tips--if any).Rotten egg odor means the catalytic converter is bad, 'cause that's the smell mine makes6. If it's a 5spd (it better be!) pay attention to the gears to feel any resistance, or that the 'H' gate isn't screwed up, every shift change should feel linear, not diagonal, if you know what i mean. 7. Different shades of paint, big gaps between body panels8. Make sure the HUD (heads up display) works if it has one and that it doesn't flicker or fade out, because those are expensive to fix/replace9. Water leaks if it's a hatchback, look in the trunk, underneath the carpeting, around the door jambs for tell-tale rust or bubbles. Smell around too.

And everything else as common sense would dictate

I hope i helped, i'm sure others will to. Don't forget to look up the http://www.240sx.org FAQ, i think there is something in there too.
